I have a 3235c all in one. when the scanner goes to e-mail me the image it doesn't do anything for about 5 minutes, then gives me this error: Check the status and connection. To check the current status, press [scanned files status].
so i checked that, and it has files sitting there going back months all of which say error, but it won't let me see what the error is.
That USUALLY means that the scanned files is too big or the email settings for smtp server is not set properly. Try just scanning in one page and see if you get that same error. If so try checking the email smtp settings on the unit itself.

First thing you should do is to check whether the original image is clean and no dust or anything.
The next one is to clean the scanner glass. Use a clean cloth to wipe the scanner glass to make sure there is no dust or anything that might reflect the light from the scanner that can cause white spots.
if you are receiving a u1040 code ,the car needs to be put on a good scanner to

Have you considered simply scanning from within Adobe Acrobat or similar software that produces .pdf and then use the email feature within Acrobat?
As I look over the HP User Manual, I can't see any method to set the default output. It simply says...
Use the E-MAIL button() to scan documents or pictures and insert them in an e-mail message as an attachment. You must have an Internet connection and a supported e-mail application.
1. Place the original face down on the scanner glass or face up in the ADF. If you are scanning two-sided originals from an ADF, slide the DUPLEX switch to two-sided mode.
2.Press the E-MAIL button().A message appears asking if the original is a document or a picture.
3.Select Document or Picture, and click OK.Note:A preview image will not appear when scanning from the ADF. To change this preview setting, see the HP Photo & Imaging software Help.
4. Select the final scan area (the area inside the dotted lines) in the preview image.
5. Make adjustments to the preview image if needed.
6. Click Accept.The final scan area is scanned and your e-mail application is opened. The scanned image is added as an attachment to the e-mail message.
7. The Save As dialog box appears. Type a file name and choose a file type, and click OK.
8. Complete the e-mail as usual.
While I am trying to scan the images, I am getting the error Code[ffff:0024] & I am unable to scan anything from Epson 1500 model. While I switch on the scanner, it sounds lot from the scanner for continuous 2 minutes. I couldn't get scanned anything ... please give me the solution.
