Question about Washing Machines
Unfortunately, he is absolutely correct. The bearing is a part of the tub itself on most of the models, and repair is never suggested as compared to the cost of the machine. The average cost of parts and labor would be around $450 - $500 which makes it much wiser to invest in a new machine. I wish i could have a better news.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hello Loree Grudem - This can be the result of the shaft bearing and seal. They may have become worn and the transmission oil is creeping up to get in your water. Once this happens, it gets on your clothes to cause staining. Or possibly you have a buildup of fabric softener that comes loose and puts a greasy like substance in your water and on your clothing. Once you put your clothes in the dryer and the old fabric softener melts you will see these spots. I suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.
