Question about Magic Chef 7 cu. ft. / 198 liter Chest Freezer CFC0735GRW
I just purchased this freezer and would like to put some sort of locking devise on the lid. Do you have any suggestions. My thought was to use a pad lock hinge and screw it with sheet metal screws to the lid and side of the freezer. I wanted to see if this would be ok or would there be a chance that a screw could go into a coolant coil.
Thanks for you help.
Yes, you can put a lock. Visit your nearest locksmith shop and ask them. There are so many varieties of locks. The 4 1/2 keyed Hasp Lock Guard security can be used for this, it can be any other brand. It is a door security lock, the screws are small so nothing will hurt your freezer. Just ask a in a locksmith store. They will know which kind of lock to give you.

I appreciate your inquiry, stephen couch!
From the information you have provided the lights on and inside of your freezer are off and your compressor is running. This sounds like a possible short within your control panel or wiring issue. I see you have performed a reset on your freezer by unplugging it and plugging it back in. Typically, to perform a factory reset we would suggest unplugging your freezer for roughly ten minutes. If that does not help I would suggest having a professional come out and perform an accurate diagnosis. This will help avoid any unnecessary part purchases. Best of luck! -Matt
