Re: scanning with imagerunner 400s
There is a hardware upgrade that has to be made first. I highly doubt if it is still available. You might find someone witha used one. They were not very popular. The scanner option used a SCSI (pronounced "scuzzy") interface which requires a seperate connection to a nearby computer with a SCSI interface board.

E-100 is an error of the Laser Beam detect PCB. Either the laser unit is not working or the beam detect PCB is not detecting the beam. You can't see the beam so don't try. Since you are also getting a E-220 which is a Scan Lamp error. Most likely cause is a ribbon cable between the CCD unit and Image Processor PCB. You may need a tech to trouble shoot this problem
its waiting for the command from the computer. in order to use scan you have to down load the canon scan tool from imagerunner.com / support/ downloads/ office products/ then canon network utilities. look for network scan gear tool ... down load save open run setup then open the program and you can either let it search for a scanner or you can put in the IP adress for the copier. then under your scanning software ( ADOBE PRO) eg. you selesct the scan gear tool as the scanner. to scan a doc you put paper in feeder select scan online then from your computer tell your software to scan good luck
