SOURCE: Lexmark X6570 printer - Cleared

Ok, the paper jam could be due to one of the following:

  • Check for paper in the paper tray
  • Check the size of the paper in the paper tray to see if it is the same as what the printer is set for.
  • Defective D-roller
  • Debris in the paper path
  • Gears not turning or broken gear
  • Defective paper tray
  • Broken input sensor flag
  • Defective input sensor board
  • Defective system cable 2
  • Defective system board
  • Exit Sensor flag (Fuser)
  • Exit Sensor board (Fuser)
  • System cable 1
First try a hard reset - unplug printer from power source, wait a minute and replug. If it still does not work, uninstall the driver, reboot PC and reinstall (or download latest version from lexmark.com.

If there is no bit of paper or debris stuck in the rollers, it would indicate something more serious, and in need of servicing. If your machine is under warranty, I suggest you take it back to the shop and get it replaced.

If your warranty has run out, then you'll either have to get it serviced or buy a new printer (whichever works out cheaper for you)

Hope that helps!

SOURCE: message on brother MFC7420 "back door open" when it's not

Actually, you need to double check the back cover and front cover, open them all to check all paper jam.
Besure to check the back cover, normally all paper jam is from the back.
be sure to close the front cover at the last cover to close.

Brother DCP-9010cn is showing Unable to print code 73

The error code 73 means that you have a paper jam or a paper sensor problem.

here are a list of all the codes for brother printers:

If its not a paper jam you will need to call brother customer service as it may need a sensor part.

Printer screen says NO PAPER FEED...when there is paper in the tray.

'No paper feed' is different from 'No Paper' : it basically means that the printer cannot 'grab' a sheet of paper to feed it!

Just remove and loosen the stack of paper from the tray and reinsert the stack making sure that the sides are not jammed hard against the guides.

ps. For good measure, also check for any remains of previously jammed/torned print outs.

Hope it helps!

Brother MFC-8840D printer w/false paper jam indication.

With my Brother 8840D I have had paper jams that when cleared would not delete from the display nor would the machine operate until I unplugged the machine for around eight hours. I guess it is a sort of reset or reboot.

If it is not resetting then either there is still something on a sensor or you did something to a sensor by accident.
