The problem with your magellan triton is that there is a file missing in the support file that allows the triton come on properly hereby leading it to jam.
The solution is for you to get your triton connected to a computer, then you back up the software on the computer, format the triton then you restore the software and maps on the triton. Then your triton will be in good condition once again.
Hope this information helped.

Magellan 400 GPS. I am getting 'fatal application error' on my gps magellan 400

This is possibly an issue with the software the gps uses to work. You could try doing a Firmware update by connecting it to a computer and going to the Magellan website to access the update.

Magellan Triton, continues to get fatal application error. What can be done to correct this situation?

Your problem stems from a corrupt software file in the internal memory of the GPS. Unfortunately, the problem is too complicated for you to solve. I really do not know of any people beside Magellan that repair the 200. The Jungle Ghost repairs 300 400 500 1500 and 2000's and maybe he can help you out. Check with www.jungleghost.com

When pulling up geocache map

This is a common problem when you enter geocaches or Waypoints in which you DID NOT SCRUB the html code. Start Deleting Geocaches until you find the bad one and all will return to normal.

Also investigate a program called GSAK and use its stripper before you load the geocaches.

When I power up my Triton 400 an Internal Error message window shows up and then the unit shuts down after a few seconds. It fails repeatedly. Is there something I can do to be able to use my GPS again ?

Hello :

First try new batteries . If that didn't work , then I recommend you to reset your Triton . Resetting can solve errors and faults that occurs in your device .

Try this for resetting :

1:Using the stylus, tap "Main Menu" and select "View."
2:Tap "Settings," and select "Restore Factory Settings." You will be given the option to confirm this action. Be sure that you want to reset to the settings that the GPS was built with. This action is irreversible.
3:Tap "Confirm," and the unit will begin to reset.

For that you need a thin object (such as a paper clip)

Don't use this method on other Magellan models .

I have a Magellan Triton 400 and it stays on for about one minute

Jaime, What happened here is that somehow you copied files from a firmware upgrade that was different than the upgrade you have on the machine originally and these mixed up files are causing the INTERNAL ERROR.

Unless your are a software expert you will not be able to recover your GPS. There are some solutions which recommend that you turn the unit into the development mode and then copy the firmware version to the GPS. But people who recommend this method also warn you that you could turn your unit into a "BRICK".

So either return the unit to Magellan for an exchange or go to your browser and look up the jungle ghost repair center.
