Hi there, this is Cheri Torres with DISH Network customerservice. I came across your question and wanted to see if I could help. Itseems like your DISH Network remote is no longer addressed to your Dishreceiver box. There are a few steps that you can walk through to get yourremote working properly again, I will list these steps here for you here. Ihope you find these instructions useful if you have any further questions orconcerns please feel free to post back here or you can email me atCheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com. :)

Addressing your remote to your receiver

  1. First you are going to take your (TV2) remote to the room where your receiver box is.
  2. Go to System Info scree. In order to get into the system info screen you can either press the system info button on the front of the receiver or you can press the power button once then the up arrow button once on the front of your DISH receiver box. If both of these options are not successful you can open the door on the front left side of the receiver and pull out the smart card. You do not need to reinsert the smart card until you have finished addressing the remote.
  3. Once you are in the system info you will see primary remote address (TV1) and secondary remote address (TV2). For your particular case you will look for secondary.
  4. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  5. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.Change the number to something different then what is already listed in the little white box.
  6. Press the pound (#) button
  7. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record three times. Note: If successful the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

Olevia channel setup

With the remote of dish you will control the dish box. The tv control is only necesary to set the signal on channel 3 or Aux to get the signal from the dish box.

Now Your main remote will be dish remote control. Set your tv on channel 3, then turn on the dish box, and use normally.

What channel does my tv need to be on? and what button do i press on my dish network remote to get me to the wii screen

Usually it depends on how you connected to the TV/satellite box- for instance, I have mine set on channel AUX 1 since I have connected my Wii to the TV using the component cables (the red yellow and white cables) to the port AUX 1. If you've hooked it to the Dish box, then it would be whichever accessory you connected is the channel to select in the dish system, but on the channel that your dish is hooked up (it's situational!)

xtreamz_69,

It sounds like you connected the coax cable to your TV. What channel is the TV set on when you have the Freeview connected? Because you are using a coax cable, the TV should be set to either channel 3 or 4 (normally channel 3). Check to make sure your TV is on one of those channels. Also verify your receiver is on. Your TV has the several other type ports (HDMI, component, composite) as alternatives to pick up your picture. If you have any other questions, please post to this site.

I am trying to connect an Insignia flat panel TV to my existing Dish satellite system. Dish satellite system is not HDMI. We have: cable from the wall (satellite) connected directly to the new TV (exactly...

Hi,

I really need to know the model number of your Insignia TV and which connections you are using between the Dish box and the TV to give you the correct answer. If you are connecting both cable and satellite, I believe it should be set-up as follows:

1. Connect cable feed to TV
2. Run auto channel scan on "cable" setting
3. Connect Dish box to TV and then try changing the "input" selection.

With the Dish box switched on to a channel number you know, try pressing the "INPUT" or "SOURCE" button on your Insignia TV remote repeatedly until you find the satellite feed. Once you have done so, you should be able to change satellite channels using the Dish remote.

If you need further assistance, please post back with the model number of your TV and details of the connections you are using on the back of the TV.

Regards,
BElectric

Harmony 880 Logitech won't change channels

Was it working before?  Is it possible you selected the wrong brand of TV when programming the remote?  Do you use a cable box or satellite dish with your TV (in other words, do you change channels by changing the channel on the TV, or on the digital box connected to your TV)?

Concierge series 25" wont stay on channel 3

You have to have the original remote. Then go into the menu under channel set-up. punch in channel 3 press add. The punch in channl 52. then press delete. Or turn on the cable box and go to auto tunnin g and let it do its thing. Im sorry , but if you dont have the original remote with a menu button your going to have to live with your problem. Good Luck
