No color TV on my Trutech 7'' LCD TV + DVD under the cabinet model KLV3170

The TV broadcast system in Brazil is PAL-M.
If this TV was bought from the US then the TV will be expecting the NTSC system.
Your other American TV may be a multi standard TV and is able to detect and adapt to your PAL broadcast system. Not all TVs do this.

How do you connect the DVD to the Trutech TV? Is it with a Scart connector? If so then the TV will not be using any broadcast standard at all and that is why it works properly.

Unfortunately if you have searched all the menus and manual instructions without finding a TV system selection, then this TV may never be able to receive TV broadcast in colour.

I need transform my samsung ht-tz212 to region free

First, in order to do what you're trying to do, you would need a device hack, a series of commands that break into the device's firmware in order to change the region code. This is possible for some players but pointless as the region code is only half the problem and if you unlocked it you would have to change the region code every time you used different Region Code DVD's and you can only do it a maximum of five times before the DVD player becomes a brick. Sites that offer region hack codes don't mention this fact or the more important issue of incompatible analog standards and it is very important to understand. It doesn't matter whether or not you hack your US DVD player's region code, it broadcasts (transmits) the NTSC analog standard to the television which displays the NTSC standard. All other countries outside of North America broadcast using the PAL analog standard and the two standards are not compatible. Non North American DVD's are recorded in the NTSC analog (look at the back of any DVD and you'll see near the bottom it will say NTSC) and Non North American DVD's are recorded in PAL. Region Codes are only security features built in by the studios to control international distribution that block media from being played, not from being displayed and have ZERO to do with the analog standard of a particular country. The media, player and the display must all have the same analog standard and your television does not support the PAL if you live in North America standard so region code changes don't solve that problem (and vice versa if you lived outside of North America). To do what you're suggesting, you would not only have to crack the region code but you would have to use a converter to change the format of your R2 discs from PAL to NTSC. Your integrated DVD player does not have this capability and few do. The only option that you would have would be to purchase a true multi region universal player that has built-in converters to convert from PAL to NTSC.

I have a ps3 40GB.How do i make it play dvd's i bought from Holland or PAL format disc Jenny Canada

Canada & U.S. use NTSC protocols for dvd playback, different frame rates, etc. Europe is mostly PAL. not compatible. get online with PS3, and see if they have a patch that supports PAL frame rates. if not, go to e-bay and find the dvds in region 1 format U.S./Canada.
good luck!

I bought a season of pokemon from ebay and when I put it into my ps3 it said PAL broadcast standard is not supported. my tv isnt old I got it two years ago. What do I do?

PAL: this is the region code all dvd's are encrypted with, it means depending on where you live its most likely you can only play your regions dvd's, it should say on the back what region your disk is, this site says what regions are where. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_codehope this helps, but there is nothing you can do if your player doesnt support the region.

We have just moved from he uk to perth

I beieve you have a TV standards prolem. According to the chart available at the website below, the UK is PAL I and the Aussies use PAL B/G. So if you bought a TV in Australia and are using the DVD Combo from the UK I think you are out of luck. A reputable TV repair shop would be able to answer further questions about this without charge.

Bought american playstation games on holidays and cannot get them to work on my irish console? is there a programe i need to download

Hey nnaughton1,

Unfortunately, the problem that you're encountering is most likely the difference in broadcasting standards between Europe and North America/Japan. North American and Japanese PS3's and games are made to be NTSC-format complaint, as that is the broadcasting standard used in those areas. In Europe however, the PAL format is used instead, so PS3's and games sold there are generally PAL-compliant. In order for a game to function correctly on any console, it should be in the same format as the console itself.

Please keep in mind that while PS3 games may be “region-free,” Sony does not currently provide official support for NTSC/PAL conversion on PS3 consoles.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

"Video in the PAL broadcast standard is not supported"

Hey DLRIII,

One of the most common reasons why you might receive this kind of message is if you are attempting to use a PAL (European) disc in an NTSC-formatted (North American or Japanese) Playstation 3.

To my knowledge though, Sony has not made any kind of statement indicating that North American PS3's may have been accidentally packaged with PAL-formatted or incorrect regional demo discs. Additionally, many demo discs may typically contain both NTSC and PAL-formatted promotional material.

There are a couple of things you might want to try before seeking additional assistance through Sony.

First, I'd suggest testing other DVD/Blu-ray discs from your collection that were purchased within the U.S. or Canada in the PS3. If these discs function properly, you most likely aren't looking at a hardware problem with the PS3 itself.

You may wish to then check out the TV where you currently have the PS3 connected. If that TV is not able to support video in the PAL broadcasting standard, this may also be a reason why you are receiving this error message. Many older or analog TV's that are only NTSC-compliant will not be able to recognize a PAL-formatted signal sent by any external device (DVD player, video game console, etc.), and could possibly result in a similar error message being displayed. The best way to test this is to try connecting your PS3 to a different TV, preferably one that was purchased within the past few years and has an internal digital (ATSC) receiver.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
