Question about Hotpoint Ultima WF860 Front Load Washer

My Hotpoint WMD960 is less than a year old and keeps switching itself off during a wash.

If your washer is less than a year old,and you have proof of purchase, then I would advise you to contact Hotpoint direct as the washer will still be under guarantee, and anything you do to it could invalidate the guarantee.

Can i replace the drum paddle lifter on hotpoint wmd960, one of mine has a hole in the side of it!


You can indeed, part number for a new lifter is 1604464 and is aprox 11-15pounds.

just basically slide the old lifter towards you( bit of force) and it will come off.

line the new one up to the holes and slide back into posistion

Hotpoint WMD960 F18 error code


I had the F18 fault.Nothing much worked except drain pump.
Simple solution for me was:
1)disconnect power 2)take off top of machine(2screws at rear) 3)locate the connector which fits on the rear of the main led display panel.4) Pull it off, squirt switch cleaner and replace with plenty of wiggling! 5) Put it back together and start washing !

1. Switch on the power and when the language is displayed - press the child lock+ temperature+ spin buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds. Release the child lock button when other languages appear. Scroll down using temperature button-until English is dispalyed. Select using child lock button.

Brown sludgy marks and particles on clothes.


fill the tub with only water! use pinesol and bleach! half a gallon of each run through wash cycle 3 times before ever letting it spin out! then complete all cycles that should do it! if not them you need to remove and clean under tub and re install

Access to the sump of WMD960 Hotpoint washing machine


There is a lower removable cover at rear of washer,remove this, locate and remove large black hose fastened to drum, locate and remove filter inside hose to clean.
