Thanks for the reply. Is the drain pump assembly easy to get to ? If so could you advise how to get to it.
    Thanks

Just to clarify. Is this an external panel underneath the dishwasher or inside the dishwasher below where the filters are located ?

  • dingles302 Jan 05, 2011

For clarity. Is the panel external to the dishwasher or inside the dishwasher below where the filters are housed ? thanks

  • dingles302 Jan 05, 2011

okay, thanks. I will have a look.

  • dingles302 Jan 07, 2011

I removed the panel below the filter but could not access any other componants from inside the dishwasher. As this is a integrated dishwasher I do not want to take it out on my own. Can you confirm if I will need to remove the diswasher to get to the pump or should it be accessible from inside ? thanks

Hi

The noise that you hear can be coming from the impeller that is either broken or has gone bad and should be replaced. The impeller is located in the drain pump assembly, also it can be due to the motor going bad if the impeller seems to be fine. Hope this helps...

Why is my whirlpool dishwasher making a loud noise during drain, wash and rinse cycles?

They can be complicated to re-assemble. Best solution is to video the procedure (if you have a video camera) during disassembly and make notes and diagrams to orient things properly and make sure the correct screws go back where they shoud. Takes more time, but you'll be glad you did, it will save you a lot of aggrevation in the long run.

I have an ASKO D3250 and it has recently started making a loud noise from the pump area. It starts as soon as the cycle begins and doesn't stop even if you open the door. It seems to stop about 90 seconds...

All power and sounds should stop when any dishwasher door is opened.
Your door switch may be stuck causing it to continue.
The 90 second sound at the beginning of the cycle is the water pump extracting any residual water before taking on clean water for the wash cycle.
Any excessive noise from the drain pump could be debris in the pump. e.g. broken glass.
You can remove the pump and check it for blockage or any foreign object.

My dishwasher is just 6 months old and started making a humming sound while washing in th wash cycle.

If you hear unusual noises during dishwasher operation, check to see if a dish or cup is loose and being knocked around during the wash cycle. If you hear grinding, grating, crunching or a buzzing sound, chances are a hard object has gone into the wash module. Once the object is ground up, the noises should cease.

Tablet falls out & doesn't dissolve especially on fast cycle

Hi and wlecome...
You should not use anything other than powered dishwasher detergent in these products. They are not designed for tablet-style detergents. The reason is because the dispenser does not "open" during the wash cycle like you would see on a conventional dishwaser. The incoming water pours over the detergent and releases the mixture out the bottom of the dispenser. My dishwasher does not completely drain after a wash. what do i do?

  1. Check for hose kinks or food plugging drain hose. Start at the drain port exit
  2. Check the check valve and drain hose for debris.
  3. Check pump motor for reversing during the pump out make sure the dishwasher is pausing between the wash and drain cycles letting the pump/motor reverse for the drain cycle.
  4. Check timer for not letting the dishwasher pause. ( not all dishwashers )
  5. Check pump motor assembly for a drain solenoid, during the pump out make sure the solenoid makes that distinctive "clunk" noise
  6. If you have recently installed a new garbage disposal, check knock out plug at connection.
  7. Check pump impeller for damage.
  8. Check that the water inlet valve isn't seeping fresh water into the dishwasher when off

Diswasher motor making noise during wash cycle

It could be the impeller on the motor. The impeller fits over the shaft of the motor and might have split/broken up. That funny noise is probably the shaft spinning inside the damage impeller. Fortunately the impeler is fairly inexpensive and easy to replace. I believe there are one or two parts/covers to remove that are held in by a roughly half dozen torx screws.
