Question about ViewSonic VX2235WM Monitor

1 Answer

I think i may have a few bad capasitors on my LCD screen mobo. Its 4 of them that has bulging on the top of the capasitor and the bottom of one of those seem to have been deformated or something like it, but i cant see any clear evidence of electrolyte oozing. now to what happens with the screen when turned on, When power -ON- the LED button lights up blue, the screen lights up 3-4 times after repeatedly shutting down, then after 2-3 sec it goes to standby if none connection are plugged in. When connected, it will try to light up the screen but fails after a short moment, my friend who was the previous owner of the screen told me he tough it was the Mercury lamp. but im more sure its due to bad caps. The caps look bad, and they'r named: KF 105*c P646 VENT or KF P646 VENT. Cuz the 105 is Celsius

You can swap the capacitors with same value but new one.
Only if you can get all done by 1/4 of the price of a new LCD, if not it is not worth your time to fix.
Another problem might be from the ccfl lamps open circuit.
You need to identify your problem. Cheers.

And also, yes i'we tried identify the problem, but its not that easy, and im pretty sure its due to the caps. but i might be wrong =)

you need to desolder the cap and read readings like 1000uF 25V will on the side of the caps.
If you can get the components in your local store, you can buy back and resolder all bad caps.
If sourcing is a problem, you better take back to viewsonic service centre, and it carries 3 years warranrty. and viewsonic service centre will advice you to repair or not.
Price for caps varies from town to town, should be less than 0.50USD per pieces.

Well, the Monitor is all fixed now :D A little magic with my fingers, and a old sacrificed LCD screen i managed to swap the damaged capacitor and now the screen works like a charm :D Really nice Monitor indeed, everyone else with the same issue as me, its probably due to a damaged capacitor on the powersupply. =) Cheers!

After changing main 2 capasitors, still screen is blinking when tv start and after 2-3 blinking , it was not worked. Help please. Polaroid tv/ model # tda-03211c

If you find two capacitors gone, there are usually more. Look for others in that same area. Even if they don't have a bulging top, they could still be bad. Since they are usually cheap enough, it's worth a try.

P5vd2-vm-se powers up,put no screen or keyboard works

Hello here is the homepage:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5VD2VM_SE
/#download

Try downloading a manual for troubleshooting.
Select first your windows system.
Open the manual folder and hit global for download.
Unzip the file before you can read the content.
You also need adobe reader.

Here should be a green led on the mainboard does it lid green of red with the power on ??
I would change the power supply because i suspect is that.
A 24 pin ATX power supply will do fine.
Try to borrow a power supply you know works.
It might also be a bad capasitor on the mainboard.
The capasitors is besides the cpu cooling element.
If it is the caps it does not pay to let the be changed it will exeed the price for a new mainboard.

Good luck

I heard some sound and my monitor stopped working not even starting Model is LG L1719SLCD

The sound you heard is typical of a blown capasitor. A capasitor over time gets stressed and can bulge, it then pops when the pressure gets too much.

All that needs to be done is to solder in a new capasitor with one of the same value, then your monitor should work again.

Claim warranty support if it is available to you, another option it to contact an appliance repair man or a computer technician.

Take care!

TV is blank and status light is blinking yellow

I think you have a powersupply problem. This model has had alot of problems with bad electrolitic capasitors through out the entire chassi assy. Because of the way the manufacture designed this unit you may be better off getting a Mitsubishi Authorised service company to fix it. If you feel confedent,
check the powersuppy for 2 electrolitic capasitors that are bulging on the top. They will be your culpirts. I believe they will be 25v 2500uf. But don't hold me to it.
Hope this helps,
Skyassoc

The video adapter board is what controls the monitor. If you are going to replace a board that would be the one.

Computer will power up for three seconds then shut down

Had the same problem on a few motherboards, check your capacitors very closely. If they are rounded or split on top they are bad. You can change the capacitors with new ones to fix your problem but it often ends up costing as much as buying a new board.
