Question about Nikon COOLPIX S8000 Digital Camera

1 Answer

My camera is a Nikon Coolpix S8000. Just got it for Christmas. I cant seem to find a Red-Eye reduction feature on this camera. The lovely photos of my new grandson are spoiled with red eyes. I expected all good modern cameras to have this feature so i hope it is just me. Thank you for your help. mbm

If you press the button with the icon of a lightning bolt and watch the screen, you will see the various settings for the flash. One of them is the red-eye setting. Check your manual.

Try resetting the camera's options to factory default. I hope I haven't misunderstood your problem.

How do you turnt he flash off the nikon coolpix 2200

You see the 'lighting' symbol at the top of the round 4-way switch on the back of the camera - while in the record mode, pressing the 'up' switch will cycle thru the various flash settings: Auto, Fill-in, Red-Eye reduction, Off.
On the Flash settings, turn it from auto to off
Hope this helped?

Have red eye on pictures and thought it was suppose to get rid of red eye

Red eye reduction is a feature that has to be turned on in the camera settings. It isn't turned on by default. It isn't perfect anyway- you may still get some red-eye. This can be further reduced or removed by editing the pics in a graphics editing program on a computer.

There is a lot of red eye on the photos ,please help.I cannot find a red eye reduction button on the camera.

I don't know whether this camera has red-eye reduction. It is likely to be found in the setup for the flash, or as a toggle for the flash setting. On some cameras, you toggle through the available flash settings until the icon (usually a lightening bolt) has an eye next to it.

Red eye reduction is not perfect even if the camera offers it. You get a much better solution by using a photo editing program in the computer to remove red eye from your shots. Many such programs have a function just for this that works almost automatically. You may have gotten a photo editing program with the camera, but there are many others downloadable for free on the net, try www.download.com.

Simple problem: how di i turn the flash off on the nikon coolpix

Press the flash button (Up on the multiselector). This gets you a menu with five choices: Auto, Auto with red-eye reduction, Off, Fill flash, and Slow sync. Select the one you want (eventually, you're going to want to turn the flash back on) and press OK.

How do you activate red eye reduction in the 5900?

To take photos with red eye reduction requires your flash to firerapidly before snapping the pic. Make sure camera is in record mode pres the 4 way switch with the lightning sign on it. The flash modes will pop up. select red eye flash.

To fix red-eye after a photo is taken. Bring up the photo in playback mode and press menu button. Red eye reduction should be available as one of the menu items. Otherwise, display the pic, press OK button in center and if you like the fixed picture then select yes to store it.
