Craftsman Security+ Opener random opening

I have had this opener for a couple years and have had no problems. This morning all of a sudden I heard my door open. I went and checked both my remotes and my wireless keypad. nothing was being disturbed and it suddenly closes while I am standing there. Then it opened again a minute later. I know that these are supposed to be rolling codes and impossible to clone but I went out and checked the street. there was nobody around, no parked cars, etc. Any thoughts? I am very concerned now since I have a lot of expensive tools etc. in my garage.

With the "Rolling Codes" on the Security+ I thought it was practicaly impossible for someone to duplicate the signal? Am I mistaken? I will replace the batteries on my remotes and keypad tonight and reprogram them.

Actually everyone was still in bed. Both remotes were sitting in the cars undisturbed and I was standing 10 feet from the remote kepad when it happened the second time.

This could be happening due the faulty sensor or any hardware failure please remove the power supply of the door opener for 30 min and then plug it back and check if it as the same problem:

The signal may coincide by chance with the code generated by a different device, it is rare but it can happen.

Is very unlikely that these devices open by themselves without pressing a manual switch or a remote controller.
I would suggest to check the switch that opens the garage manually and see if that could be the problem, disconnect that switch.
You can also remove the batteries from your remote controllers once the manual switch is disconnected.
If the door still opening, I would suspect that the door opener is getting the commands from another source.

It might not be someone that is duplicating the signal but it could be a frequency that the antenna picks up and send it to the circuitry instructing the opener to activate.

Make sure the door isn't closing too far. This will cause it to open. Your opener comes with a warranty. Call Sears repair.

Make sure it isn't the wiring to the wall console by removing the connection at terminal #1 on the end of the motor unit. Staples used in installation can cut through the insulation and cause this problem.

Craftsman Garage Opener intermittently not closing

A couple things to check and do. If the main light flashes 10 times when the door reverses to the open position it is a door sensor problem. Make sure they are pointed at one another and that the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a bit if necessary.

If the main light isn't flashing it may just be a simple adjustment. Locate the 'down force' adjustment on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Increase this about 1/4 turn and try.

For the light you should unplug the unit and then using a small screwdriver pull out on the center contact in the light socket.

Remotes quit working on Craftsman 53975 garage

It sounds like you have a logic board problem. If your remotes work at all it is not a programming problem. You could pull the logic board and check for loose connections especially around the small transformer. 18 years for an opener is very lucky. Their average life is about 1/2 that.
