Question about Computers & Internet

2 Answers

Sirs: If I pause my computer during start up, 2 or 3 letters on the left side of the screen are unreadable. In other words the picture seems too large or is "scewed" to the left on the screen. This makes reading the black and white (DOS?) screen very difficult, if not impossible. Once I continue to my Windows desktop page I do not see to have this problem. On the other hand when I use my monitor as a TV it also seems to "cut off" a small portion of the picture to the left and to the bottom of the screen. The cut off is such that I can not read the score at the bottom of the screen during a televised football game. I am running Windows XP through a combined monitor/TV - a Visio 38 inch flat screen HDMI. Can you assist me to adjust the picture size?

    Sir:
First, my problem has nothing to do with "Barcode Scanners". I don't know where this came from.
Second how do I "go to the desktop and right click on screen resolution or personalize from either of them" Where do I find screen resolution on the "desk top"? And what do you mean personalize from either of "them". What is "them"?
Please also remember, I do not seem to have a problem when using Windows XP. Problem occurs when I try to pause the start up and read the white script on the black background. It also occurs when I use the monitor in the TV mode.
    Thanks for your help

Sir: When I right click on my Desk Top I get only "Arrange Icons By", "Refresh", "New" and "Properties". Clicking on none of these gives me "screen resolution" or "personalize". When I click on "Refresh", I get nothing. "Properties" gives me a "Display Properties" window with no options that includes "screen resolution" or "personalize". "New" gives me the option to set up "short Cuts and access to WinZip files. So I seem to have no access to the two files you want me to use.
    Regards

this is not a "bar code reader" problem but a computer hardware problem.
Proposed solution by first expert does not work as locations he says can be reached from "desk top" are not available on my computer screen.
First expert has not responded to my reply/comments as of two days ago.
    Please help.

The action of changing the resolution foe the monitor will make the screen visible when you use it in windows or like a tv ..but in BIOS and when it starts it will always look like that ..This is a common issue ...and the only way you can adjust it is from auto adjust button on the monitor..
but ..I read the things that the previous posted and I sow that he didnt explained you how to change the display settings ..for resolution ..
you can do it ..by right click on the icon of the video card in the task bar (system tray ..in the bottom right ) and choose screen resolution ..and select them one by one until the best fit..
or indeed if you right click on the desktop and choose properties ..than the settings (in the right of the window ) ..in this window you will find the resolution as well..
remember ..until you boot in windows the video card driver is not actually working ...and this is the cause..for the left letters being out of screen ..practically you should use the OSD settings in the main menu of the monitor ..and adjust the orizontal ..( reduce it in size on the horizontal line ) for to see the whole image ..
This may mess with the image you see after booting in windows..and you should use again the auto-adjusting ..
just in case...the rectangular one is the menu ...the +and- are for navigation and set values...the menu again is used for confirming ..and the 4th button is auto ..

To adjust your screen size all you have to do is go to the desktop and right click on screen resolution or personalize from either of them you can navigate to the display settings page where you can adjust the display settings as well as the screen resolution from here you can make the display images and texts larger or smaller and also change the resolution to fit your screen.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

First of all after reading your problem knew it had nothing to do with barcode scanners.
Secondly when i say right click on your desktop i mean the desktop page just put your mouse on no object on the desktop page and right click like you want to refresh the system from the list of options which comes you can select either screen resolution or personalise and from there you can adjust display settings.
The desktop screen is that screen which displays when you just put on your PC and it has finished booting where all your icons can be found.
Hope this further clarifies the previous solution.

How do I decrease the width the size of my computer monitor?

Hi there,

Try 'right clicking' on the desktop area and select screen resolution, from here you are able to change the size of your display to match the screen (don't worry if you select one that is incorrect and can't click on it, it will automatically revert to the setting before).

Good luck.

In ma laapi i m not able to make a slide show help me

Put all the pictures you want in the slideshow into one folder.

To create a new folder just RIGHT MOUSE CLICK on an empty spot on your desktop, scroll down to the word NEW, then over to the word FOLDER and click on that.
The new folder will appear on your desktop and then you just name it whatever you want.

You can either drag your photos into that folder with the mouse or COPY and PASTE them there.

Now double click on the folder to open it up.
On the left hand side of the page under expand the PICTURE TASKS menu.
In there you will see an option to VIEW AS SLIDESHOW.
Click on that and your slideshow screen will appear and the slideshow will start playing.

The PLAY (start slideshow) button will be in the upper right hand corner.
The PAUSE, NEXT PICTURE, PREVIOUS PICTURE and the CLOSE SLIDESHOW SCREEN buttons will be up there too.

Good luck and please comment back and rate if this was helpful or if you need further assistance.

Samsung HCN4727W Rear Projection TV, green screen, audio works

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai2_bing.gif,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

A940 printing issue

hmm..now..that sounds more like a software issue, than a hardware issue. Can you check on all version updates for the software from MSoft, and ensure that the drivers for your printer, by application, are up to date. From what I'm seeing, this MAY not be a printer issue.

and, if you want, we do this sort of service call remotely. see my link here for more on that.

There's a profile link on top right, that may be of some value, if this becomes unsolvable from your end.

Philips 32pt television screen format off center, to the left

For me it was the cable box settings...

I'm not a tech person, so take this for what its worth. I had the same problem with my Vizio and my Time Warner Cable HD/DVR box using the HDMI cord connection. HD channels were always fine, and non HD channels were fine until I went to an HD channel and back. When switching back, the non-HD channels would be shifted to the left as you describe. After much back and forth with both Vizio and Time Warner (each saying its caused by the other), I stumbled across the following fix...

I went into the cable box (scientific atlanta 8300) "settings", under "display," under "output resolution." There was a list including 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and "auto select." I unchecked both 480 options and left 720 and 1080 checked. Problem solved. The other "Display" menu settings are as follows: Picture Size = Stretch, Aspect Ratio = 16x9.

Hope this helps.
