You will need just a mini-jack cable to connect the headphones output to the line in from the motherboard of your pc - put the volume at low, you will probably have to make several tries till you get the correct volume.
Then just use a recording program like Audacity

How do I transfer music from mini disc to computer

There is a really crappy system that Sony has. See their website for Sonic Stage.

I recommend doing it line out to line in. The quality will be fine if you watch your levels. And it will be much simpler.

I lost my Sony Walkman MP3 Player NWZ-S61setup disc.

you dont need any software to load the music to it just use these steps
**Drag and Drop**
Connect your MP3 player to the computer. Some MP3 players connect directly to a USB port, while others connect to a USB port by way of a specific USB connector that comes with the MP3 player. Open the folder on the computer that contains the music files you want to transfer. This is usually the "My Music" folder, available from the "Start" menu, but it can be any folder where you save your music files. Scroll down to the song you want to transfer to the MP3 player. Right-click on the title. When the options are displayed, click on "Send To." Scroll down the "Send To" options and select your MP3 player. This can be listed as your MP3 player's name or as "Removable Drive." Click on this selection. Continue this process until you have transferred all songs that you want to your MP3 player.
--**Windows Media Player**--
If you have a large playlist to transfer, you may prefer to do it from your media player, such as Windows Media Player. Once your MP3 player is connected to the computer, open Windows Media Player. Click on the "Sync Music" tab. Drag songs that you want from your Windows Media Library over to the "Sync Music" column to create a playlist. Click the "Begin Sync" tab at the bottom once you have all of the songs on your playlist. This action will sync all of the songs to your MP3 player with one click. Disconnect your device once songs have been transferred by clicking on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the bottom-right side of the desktop tray.

if you need a driver for your device the goto the sony website and get on from the support/download section there

It isn't possible to transfer your music from a minidisc to a computer...Sony made it so you can only transfer from a computer to the minidisc...Very bad engineering, but that is the bad news...

Transfer music from Mini Disk back to Computer

Unfortunately, there is no way to transfer music from a sony mini-disc player to a computer other than playing it through your sound card and recording it. Sony specifically disabled this ability to dissuade consumers from transferring music from one person to another, and this is one of the reasons that Mini Disc Players did not take off.

Transferung music from MD to CD

1.hi there...roger andre speaking.it may be a long shot. if you can obtain some music software ie pro audio logic, and if you have the time and patience, you will be able to play the tracks from your headphone/lineout socket and into the software as a high quality sample and add markers and even up the quality somewhat. 2.an even easier way would be to get your self a GOOD mp3 player, meaning it has a line in socket for analogue to digital mp3 conversion.then all you have to do is obtain a mini jack to mini jack conector(headphone size) and go from the minidisk output,to the mp3 players line in and record.hey presto your mini disk tracks will now be stored as mp3 files ready to be read by almost any computer...i m sure you know the rest...hope this is of some use, good luck roger
