My insignia screen displays "NS-XV17, File System Fail, Format File System"

1) Hold the power button (slider) in the on position for about 15-20 seconds to force the player to turn off, if it's already on.

2) Hold the menu button down and simultaneously hold the power button (slider) to the on position.

3) Do not let go when the device turns on. You will then get a screen message in black and white that reads (with a typo):

WARRING !!!

NAND FLASH MEMORY INITIALIZE......

"WARRING !!!" will appear in red (and probably should read "WARNING". You will have the options of "No" and "Yes".

4) Choose "Yes" to re-format your device.

I was given a used ns-dv2g insignia mp3 and cleared the downloaded material to start anew. Afterwards, the screen says "nand file system fail format file system!! I've tried the solutions posted, but to no...


You may reset the unit by inserting a pointed object, such as a paper clip, into the reset port on the bottom of the unit. A copy of the owner's manual will help identify the location of the port. I hope this helps.

Frozen and memory messed up


try resetting it
if that fails try taking the battery out for a few seconds to clear the error out

still no luck consider it dead and buy new one

It sounds like you are having a firmware issue.

Easiest solution is to connect the NS-DV2G to your computer and place the firmware file on it. When you disconnect, the firmware will install. You'll loose all your settings and probably all your songs, but it should correct your player.
