Question about Sears Magic Washing Machine Cleaner

1 Answer

My hot water almost trickles into the tub and i think it is caused by a lime clog. I tried pouring CLR into the hot water input line but no luck. I do not have a manual. Is there a filter on the back or somewhere that can be easily accessed? If not, any suggestions? thanks

Water boiling inside but no steam wants to come out

The steam port is clogged up with lime. get some vinegar or CLR (calcium lime and rust remover from home depot or lowes or any store like that. Pour the water out of the iron and put the CLR or vinegar in the iron and let it sit for a while. Plug the iron into the wall and let it get hot. It should steam in a while... be careful that you do not breathe in the fumes.

If you have been using tap water, your steamer is probably clogged with calcium or lime. I would pour some CLR (Calcium, Lime and Rust remover) into it and let it sit for a few hours. CLR can be bought at Home Depot or Lowe's.

The toilet isnt flushing and water is not filling into the cistern? (at the top) how do i fix this problem??

If I understand correctly, the tank that holds water is not filling up with water.

1) If this is the problem, then you need new toilet fill valve.
Or clean sediment out of existing fill valve by removing and soaking in CLR calcium rust lime.

To replace fill valve:
Look at water supply line coming into tank.
Supply line connects to fill valve.

Buy new fill valve at home center, hardware store, or walmart, or online.
There are two nuts connected to valve. Each nut has companion rubber washer

One nut & washer seal water supply line to tank.
Second nut & washer seal valve to tank.

2) If water tank is full of water, but water does not flow rapidly into bowl when you push flush lever, then your toilet is clogged with sediment.

To solve sediment problem when flush water will not flow rapidly into tank, then buy CLR calcium lime rust.
Pour CLR down into overflow tube located inside water tank.
Make a funnel by cutting off bottom of water bottle, or cut paper cup into a funnel.
Pour cup-full after cup-full of CLR into overflow tube until sediment and CLR are coming out all flush holes located under-rim on bowl.

My mansfield toilet 160 has a weak flushing problem

My toilet had same problem:
I thought it was a clog in the drain pipe.
But the problem was clogged holes where water flushes into toilet bowl.

Here's how I fixed problem.
Gallon of CLR calcium-lime-rust remover from Home depot.
Pumice stone from hardware store.

Home supplies:
Cut off bottom of empty clorox bottle to make container for CLR
Old 3" paint brush you don't use for anything else to apply CLR
Small cup to pour CLR into toilet flapper opening

Look inside toilet bowl under rim and see holes where water comes out
Use brush and apply CLR to holes where water comes out.
Use pumice stone to scrape ... pumice stone will not hurt toilet surface.
Flush toilet to clear holes so far.
Turn off water to toilet.
Open flapper to drain tank.
Keep flapper open.
Use cup and pour dose of CLR directly into flapper opening.
(You can also pour CLR down overflow tube... but flapper opening puts whole dose directly onto problem)
Pour another cup of CLR into opening.
Notice how CLR starts coming out the holes into bowl.
Pour CLR down flapper hole until it runs easy and fast out of holes.
Close flapper, turn on water, toilet fixed.

I have a laing cirulating pump thats is worhing but now making noise so i took it apart see nothing but it was hot when running so is there any thing i can do to fix before it burns out

Open following link for Re-circulation information and resources:

If the unit is getting hot, it may have already slowed and is now spiraling to it end.
Try bleeding air out of water lines, and clean autocirc with CLR calcium lime and rust remover.
Recirculation systems have a built in check valve so cold water side of faucet will work correctly. If this check valve is stuck open or closed, it can affect a lot of things in the plumbing system.
For example, stuck check valve can cause tankless water heater not to operate. It can also cause autocirc pump to overheat.
Lines, or elbows clogged with sediment can also cause same problems with recirculation system. If your system has direct return line to water heater that connects into the water heater drain port, then clog in line can cause overheated pump. Check water flow, check water lines, and clean out autocirc.

Upvote the help.
And take advantage of fixya expert assistance live.
For a price, expert works with you while you work on autocirc or any do-it-yourself project.

Jacuzzi jets

could be clogged with gunk, fill the tub up with as hot of water as you can and run some CLR or lime away and let it run for 15-20 mins and try that. alot of times the tubes create dips and soap scum and other "goodies" get clogged up in there and solidify and clogg up parts of the system
