Where can I purchase a system disc for a Asus m2n Sli motherboard having an award Boot Block V1.o Bios?

If the computer is asking for a system disc, then what it is really saying is that it cannot find the Operating System. This usually means that one a a few things:

1. The BIOS is not set to select the internal hard drive as the boot device. This can change by accident or if the BIOS gets corrupted.

2. The OS itself is corrupted and cannot boot.

3. The HDD (hard drive) has failed.

When you say you need a "system disk", what you really need is to reload the Operating System. You can get Windows from many sources. Then you only need the drivers that are specific to the main board you have. These can be downloaded for free from the ASUS website. Just go to support, downloads, select you main board model and revision, and download the drivers for your particular Operating System. Of course, if the problem is hardware related, simply getting a new OS will not completely solve the problem. A BIOS corruption would be the worst possible issue since that would require a reflash of the BIOS, and hopefully it would be in good enough condition to perform one without crashing completely. The simplest problem would be if the BIOS was simply not looking at the hard drive as a boot device. Go into the BIOS and ensure that the internal hard drive is selected as the first boot device. If not, make it such and then save and reboot to see if the problem is solved. Otherwise, you need to ensure that the hard drive itself is not faulty. If it is ok, then a new OS and reloading of the drivers and other programs is necessary.

Where to find the reset button on my packard bell pc hard drive

Click on the "Start" button and input "Recovery" into the search box. Click on "Recovery Manager."

Click on the "Advanced Options" button when the Windows recovery manager appears. Choose the "System Recovery" option from the list and click on "Next."

Click "No" to decline using the Microsoft system restore and click "Next." Note that HP computers have their own restore system.

Click on "Back up your files first (recommended)." Click on "Next." Follow the instructions given to you by the recovery manager for backing up your files.

This is your opportunity to back up any important or original files before you reset the HP computer to its original settings.

Save these files to removable storage devices such as DVD disks, CD disks, alternative hard drives (that you are not performing a system reset on) or flash drives.

Click on "Next" when the screen reads "Recover without backing up your files." Note that after you proceed with this step, you will lose any and all information on your Hard Drive that you did not back up.

Restart your computer after it has finished the recovery procedure. Visit the HP Support and drivers website and click on the option that says "Download drivers and software (and firmware)." Enter your computer model number (find this on the front of your tower) and press "Enter."

Download the most recent drivers and save them on your desktop. Double-click the driver package and follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers.

Insert your removable storage device that contains the files that you backed up. Copy the files to the appropriate places on your hard drive.

hope this helps

I need the software for the CD/DVD. Not the drivers, I can get that from HP. I need the actual program as the hard drive was reformatted and I don't have the software that came with the machine.

umm the utilities and drivers for the hardware are all on www.hp.com under model number support there is no other software specific to the cd other than what comes with it.

perhaps you are interested in a restoration disk instructions on that also accessible through that link

Need to reset acer aspire 1200 desktop

The Aspire One is a netbook produced by Acer; it does not come equipped with a CD ROM drive, so a traditional hard drive reformat and Windows reinstallation is not possible without a peripheral storage device. An external USB CD or flash drive will suffice, however.Difficulty:Moderate

Instructions

    • 1 Plug in the external CD drive, then turn on your netbook and let it boot to your operating system.
    • 2 Open your web browser and go to the BootDisk website (see link in Resources). Download the Windows XP Fresh Install Bootable CD, then burn these files to a blank CD via your external CD drive.
    • 3 Ensure the files have burned to your bootable CD, then restart the netbook with the CD still in the drive.
    • 4 The netbook should boot to the CD upon the restart. Follow the instructions prompted for installation. Upon completion you will have a clean installation of Windows XP on your Acer Aspire One.

Please try to system reformat/reinstall OS to your HDD under SATA connection. then kindly check the jumper setting of HDD under IDE connection which I suggest to place it at Master while the SATA HDD will be automatically recognized as Slave by your computer. best regards

LOST ETHERNET DRIVER

If you have the "Windows XP" operating system then follow these instructions...If you have a second computer with an internet connection then you can search on the internet for that driver...type the make and model of your computer plus the word "ethernet driver" and after you find it you just download it into "My Documents"...after that, copy the driver onto a blank CD disc...Take the CD and put it into your notebook and it should open and extract the file ..If it doesn't open up when you load the CD, go into "My Computer" and then double click on the "CD/CDRW/DVD/DVD-RW drive...restart your computer and remove the CD from the disc drive...Now plug your DSL into your ethernet port and see if it works...if it still does not work then go into "Control Panel" and then "Network and Internet Connections" and then "Network Connections" and then "Create a New Connection" and then follow the instructions...restart your computer and see if it finds the ethernet port and receives the signal through the ethernet cord

Setting up a new hard disk and operating system on an Acer Power SC

There should be more than one disk, as the other will be drivers, all you need to do is press F2 or Del to get into your pc's bios settings and change the first boot device to your cd drive, insert your acer disc into the drive, then save the bios settings, restart the pc ,then, when prompted on screen to press enter to boot from cd; do so.

You should then follow instructions to set up windows on the 'C' drive as is default and it may need to reformat in NTFS.
