Question about Sony KDS-60A3000 60" HDTV

1 Answer

I replaced my sony kds60a3000 lamp 2 1/2 weeks ago. The lamp at that time was blown. I replaced it and the TV worked right after installing it. Now two days ago I try to turn on the TV and its doing the same thing with the red LED light saying lamp. I took out the lamp and the lamp seems intact not shattered like the last one. I called SONY and they said I need to replace the lamp and then I called them again and another technician said that I need to get someone out there to take a look at it. I really hope that this isn't going to be an expensive problem to fix. I love this TV. Has anyone else had this problem. Is there anything else that I can do? Or check?

If you touched the glass lens part in the front of the lamp will you were installing it, it will burn the lamp and screw up. If you did do this you may need a new lamp. Sorry but thats about all you can do.

3 blinks is indicating the lamp has burned out. Aftermarket lamps tend to fail quickly. Only use oem replacement lamps for your sony. You can get replacement lamps from www.tvrepairworld.com

The TV keeps shutting off, then shortly after turns back on, then shuts off again... Plugging the cord into a different wall outlet doesn't solve the problem. Please help! Thank you

I'm having the same problem. My TV will play for for awhile and then it just dims down for about 1 to 2 minutes then powers up again. The green light stays on doesn't blink at all, and there is no red light that comes on or blinks like when our lamp went out. We replaced the lamp about 6 months ago and it's been working great until this week.

I have a sony kds60a3000 projectin tv. when i turn the tv on there is a message that says "your projection lamp is nearing the end of it's life." Should I order a new one now? how long do you think it...

You should order a new one and wait for the other one to **** out first. The automatic message is to make Sony more money.
Shop around on the web for the lamp.
Some places are 2-3X more than others

TV goes off about every 45 seconds - comes back on picture first

The repair man just left my house for the EXACT same problem on the EXACT same model TV. All he had to do was remove the front panel on the TV and clean the bulb and fan. He said the bulb may have to be replaced before long but it is working perfectly now!! $100 service call to clean the bulb!

Sony KDS-R50xbr1 50" Problems

Here's the best way to get Sony's and/or the extended warranty company's attention and possible help.

Send an old fashioned letter to Sony and your extended warranty provider outlining the problems and your concerns regarding your TV. Make sure to prominently indicate that a copy of the letter is being sent to the complaint division at the attorney general's office in your state. After having to settle claims surrounding their optical block (light engine) issues Sony now understands that failure to address their customer's complaints may result in another judgement against them.

Good luck and give 'em hell!

Tv shutting off then comes on

your lamp is going out, they last around 2 years, on the average, this is easily replaced by you, door is on the right side of the tv, you can take the lamp out, if it has a bubble on it, it is getting ready to go out

KF 42WE610 turns on for two seconds, then goes black

no, had the same problem. Its the lamp ballast also called the lamp power block. It supplies power to the lamp, any how some repair shop wanted $450 to fix it, so i ordered the part from sony, part #146879816 ($116.25), trust me this is the part I double checked with many different places. Any how fixed it my self took about 15 minutes, just take the back cover off and the part is right there just kind of follow the screws and the 3 wires, super easy job, I suggest you replace the bulb at the same time, dont by a cheap bulb just get it from sony
