How to Connect HDMI Components with AVR 3805 as Hub

posted by brownujr on Jul 09, 2008

Hi,

I am currently using the AVR 3805 as a hub with my SONY XBR HDTV, Sony PS3, Sony HDMI DVD/CD, and Scientific-Atlanta HD-DVR from Time-Warner Cable connecting and switching via the 3805.

Is it possible to use the HDMI interface for each device via an hdmi switcher? I do not have any HDMI connections on the receiver and the TV has only a single HDMI connection. How should the connections be made between the receiver and the hdmi switcher so when changing components the audio and video seamlessly switches thru the receiver.

Thanks in advance.

In reference to the comment you added to our chat session:

Just connect your receiver to your TV using the same cable your receiver is currently using to connect to your TV, be it Composite, S-Video, or Component. Just switch your TV to that input when you need to set-up something on the receiver.
