Question about NetGear (WGR614DLNA-BN) Router (WGR614DLNABN)

I recently bought a netgear router and i have a sibling with a ipod touch and he was recieving a connection before i logged onto my device and then i set up the device on my laptop and the connection on his ipod will no longer allow him to revieve a connection and i have been changing all the connection options on my computer so anyone around me can revieve a connection but that still does not solve the problem and it is telling me to type in a password when i have yet to even set a password myself

do you get on the internet thrue your router? if not property your network conection out look at your ip and subnet. subnet should look like 255.255.255.0 or 255.255.254.0 if not reboot your router by unplugging the power cord for 30 seconds or so

SOURCE: have a d-link router with password. Ipod touch(8G) won't connect

Try remove the password on D-Link router, put it on open conditions (no security enabled).It should work.
If still won't connect, try using laptop or any wireless device to connect to router(without password), if connect, then there's something wrong with your Ipod.

Before diagnosing it to be a hardware failure, I would suggest you to upgrade the firmware on the router. Follow the below steps to upgrade firmware on the router:

A. Open the router page using the following way:

1. Connect a computer to the router using any one of the 4 available ports.
2. Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
3. Access the router, usually by typing 'http://192.168.1.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
4. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that the Username and Password are case sensitive).

B. Visit the following link to download the latest firmware.

C. Please follow the steps to upload the firmware of the router:

1. Open the router page using the steps mentioned above.
2. Under Maintenance, click router Upgrade.
3. Click Browse and locate the upgrade file.
4. Click Upload.
5. Wait for the router to reboot.
6. Click on 'Logout' (at the bottom of the list) from left menu.
7. Reset and reconfigure the router.

Ipod touch losing wifi connection


If you are moving from place to place in the house, there may be dead spots? Are the other devices static? Is it the only device that moves about the house, all the time? Perhaps it's the Apple device, the antenna? Try at another location. Contact Apple, it may be a Known fault, You have heard of the antenna issues with the iPhone 5? Router stopped recieving an internet connection all of a sudden. all cables are connected as befour ,


Perhaps try logging into the GUI by opening a web browser and typing in "www.routerlogin.net" - - us admin/password to log in and manage the device. In there you can find the status of the router to give you more information. Otherwise try resetting the device and/or upgrading the firmware.

Hi,

In order to find the wireless security password of your Netgear wireless router , please follow these setps

1. Open up the internet explorer in the comp in which you are online and clear the address bar and type in the number 192.168.1.1 and hit enter.

2. You will be logged into the Netgear router setup page .

3. Under the wireless settings you will find the security password for your wireless router.

I cant log onto my ipod touch's wi fi


Actually I had the same problem too, with both my iPod Touch and my wife's. I rebooted both my modem and my router, and that fixed the problem. Routers can get into these strange internal states sometimes, and rebooting them usually fixes the problem.

Can't connect ipod touch to it


Hello
You will need to enter the wireless wep or wireless code into the ipod.

Log onto your routers homepage using 192.168.1.0 or 192.168.1.1
Once there find your wireless settings and copy the code onto the i pod.

Do this in the network settings page of the i pod.You will need to register your i pod at i tunes.

I have a netgear g router wen ibought my ipod touch it recieved wifi great after a few days it wont evan find the signal it occasionally does but it,s unable to connect


delete the existing settings from your ipod and then re connect to ur router ... that should help .. if even that dosent works then u might have to reconfigure your router to resolve the issue

netgear support software could be bad. The ipod might not be able to read signal. umm try restoring the ipod. then plug it to your computer let it recognize it and then before you add ANYTHING to it, go straight to the setting and put in the router number and everythign and see if it works. I know people hate it but restoring it usually works. Its just simple small virus's that hit your ipod through songs and stuff and it eventually makes everything stop working. So get back at me let me know if restoring it worked.
