Question about Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Hi. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced problems with the power (on/off) switch. My camera will turn on, but only after I have pulled the battery and reinserted it. Then with the switch in the on or off position, the camera will power up fine, but if I turn the power switch to the off position and try to power up again, the unit will not respond. Thus, I will need to remove the battery each time I want to power up the camera. At first I thought it was the battery so I went to the store and tested it using another battery and it has the same problem. I've updated the firmware to 1.04. Any ideas out there? Sony wants way too much to fix the camera and I hate to toss it because it still takes wonderful photos. Thanks for your help.

Hi - I am getting an error message when i switch on my Sony Cybershot dsc t9 saying access and then it flashes format error C13.01 - can you advise how to resolve?

It might be due to a bad contact of the placed memorycard.

1. Pull the memorycard out and in the camera several times and retry.
2. If not OK, format the card in the camera. If that does not work, format it in the computer.
3. Try another memorycard and recheck.

Just purchased a finepix s1800 and fitted new batterys but it wont turn on . can anyone help. thanks nige

Many times these digital camera require photo lithium batteries or rechargeables. I recommend you Purchase these first and try it out. Many times the standard household batteries just do not have enough power to turn on digital cameras. If you are still experiencing problems after new batteries then return back to store for another camera because that model may have a problem.

Panasonic AG-DVC10 Startup Issue

Most likely cause for this problem is defective power switch and defective record start/stop switch. The DVC7, DVC10 and DVC15 all use similar switches, and I have repaired all three.

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.

CAMERA WILL NOT TURN ON

Try new good quality batteries.
i experienced this issue last night. Even after replacing the batteries i had the same problem though the batteries were from a very cheap pack & i'd had them a while. The camera worked fine once i'd recharged my normal batteries. I'm no expert but I expect switching the camera on must use much more power then review mode causing the camera to switch off before it has time to tell you your batteries are low.
Hope this solves your problem!

Camera froze whilst taking pictures, lens stuck.

It happend to me also. I think it is caused by the lens mechanism. It is stuck and it disabled all other functions.

On/Off Switch

I too have experienced the same situation .... I have THREE C-5050's and "REGULAR" part seems to occure when the camera is overworked, or WARM. Does your camera become warmer is you are shooting many picturees one after the other? When it cools down (black case could add to the scenario), the problem stops.

I have found that over heating occurs from two situations:
1. Taking shots one right after the other, quickly, for a number of shots in very rapid succession
2. leaving the camera sit in the sun

What do you all think about this? Is it of any assistance?
