This is a tip explaining exactly what steps you should follow to increase your wifi signal when using a USB wireless adapter. I did this myself, and can honestly say, IT WORKS!!!

Firstly, you need to have the following:

* USB wireless adapter
* Aluminium foil
* Masking tape
* USB extension cable
* Aluminium mesh
* Glue stick

df6f45b.jpg 1f06134.gif b1fbf8d.jpgd9806b4.jpg

Now, after you have gathered all the components you need, we can start constructing our booster. Also, you need to have your adapter installed.

Step 1:

Ok, firstly you need to take the aluminium mesh you have, i use the kind which is used to cover a plate. It works great, and the bigger you have, the better the boost. You need to make a hole in the mesh at the center, which is the shape of your dongle(USB adapter). Do not make it to big, because your dongle needs to fit snug in the hole. I used regular scissors to make the hole.

Step 2:

The next step will be to cover the mesh with regular paper glue, to ensure that the foil stick to the mesh. You need to be quick when you do this, because the foil needs to be applied before the glue dries.

Step 3:

Now, you need to apply the foil. Lay out the inside and outside with the foil. Try to get it as smooth as possible. I use regular masking tape to tape the overlapping pieces together. You will see when you need to use the tape. Apply as needed.

Step 4:

Now, you need to place the dongle in the whole in the mesh, and see if it still fits properly. If it does, you can plug in the dongle via the USB extension cable.

Step 5:

Just position your construction in the direction of the access point or router to which you connect. This might not look very neat, but it really gets the job done.

I hope you can find this helpful. Please rate accordingly.

Kind regards
Andrea

I have the ghost look, top and bottom of the screen is narrow

Your TV most likely has one or more possible problems.

Problem #1: Convergence Chip Failure ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Problem #2 CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Picture of a set that needs the fluid changed.

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt. You can get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com that includes replacement coolant, photos. instructions, etc.

I have a Sony Grand WEGA KDF-42WE655 60 inch Rear Projection TV with what looks like a huge fried egg shape in middle of picture screen in what appears to be yellow. Is this part of the problem with the...

Both of these answers are incorrect but the first one is very close. When the lamp door warps, the picture keeps proper color but looses brightness. The second answer is just completly wrong. This set does not have a color wheel.
This set needs a new optical block and cleanning. The picture will be good as new with that. The Sony tv's are not DLP, a Texas instrument chip technology. A Digital light processor has a lamp, a color wheel and a optical chip that works together to produce the picture. A Sony has a lamp but uses a combination of mirrors and light filters to send the lamps light through 3 LCD's. The LCD's are about in inch in size for each color red, green and blue. They have millions of tiny mirrors inside to make up the picture. This method creates a better black in the video and eliminates the rainbow effect, better than a DLP but makes the LCD's work harder and heat up more because of location to the lamp. the most common problem is the blue (The closest to the lamp) starts to loose its ability to pass light so the picture gets blotches of brown/yellow because the blue is missing or reduced. The light filters collect dust and because the light is so bright when it passes though, it actuly burns the image of the dust into the filter. A home that is dusty and people smoke in will ruin one of these sets in 1,000 hours of use. A clean smoke free home will see over 4,000 but this was a problem with design and is most likely to happen again and again. Hope this help and good luck.

ILLUSTRATOR MESH TOOL

Hi! You can use the mesh on any shape. First you make your circle with the shape tool and then get your mesh tool and click inside the shape. Each time you click it will add more lines to the mesh. Then you can use your direct select tool (the white arrow) to select each point and change the color. The point's color is bounded by the lines around it so you can also use the direct select tool to move points around or change the shape of lines by moving the "handles" you see when you click on a point. Once you start playing with mesh it can be very fun!

Warped Picture, Separated colors

Each color (red,green & blue) has an amplifier IC (STK-).
When there is a convergence issue,the first step is change both
IC's for reliability. Then check for open fuses devices,usually
pico fuses.Then re-check convergence alignment.......T.
