how are you trying to transfer or look at the pictures? through a memory card reader or port on pc? Do you have a printer with a card reader on it? try using a usb cable from the camera? remember to set the camera to connect to the pc before trying to access it. It should show up as a mass storagre device in the list of drives, the same thing with the printer and card readers they will all show up in the folder view. It sounds like the I/O error is due to the device not being set to transfer info to and from the comp. Is it recognizing the camera in the operating system or device manager? Is anything starting then causing an error after you access them?

What operating system are you using, and are you using USB from the camera to the PC or a memory card reader? If you don't have (in case you were using Windows XP) WinXP patched up to service patch 2 or 3, it's not going to work either way. Some card readers 4 years old or more ****, too. If you cite your error messages you're going to get much more relevant answers, you should know.

You probably need to cite the photo program (Casio Photo Studio, Adobe Photoshop LT, Picasa, SilverFast Casio Photo Studio V, etc.) you want to use, and have it installed along with any particular drivers for Casio Exilim of whatever generation your camera is.

When i insert my memory card into my brand new CASIO EX-55O/0 camera,a message comes up and says "card error"

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out (of which your camera was made before SDHC. You can only use 2GB or less cards). Other causes include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

Whenever i insert the 4 GB SDHC memory card into my Exilim casino digital camera(12.1 mega pixels), nothing appears on the screen and it wont work. Why? It wasn't like this before :/

First, check try the card in another device, does it work, if no, the card has possibly failed, if yes check your user guide, make sure this camera can accommodate a 4gb SDHC card, if yes, check 2/3s up the left hand side of the card, is there a sliding notch offering a choice of lock and open, unlock the card.

My camera gets easily full though i've just taken only one or two pictures. What should i do? Please help me solve this problem. I badly need my camera now as I am documenting for my thesis. Thanks much.

Sounds like you may not have a SD memory card in your camera (or have been using a 4GB SDHC card), and your images are being saved to the camera's very limited "built-in" memory. What size SD memory card are you using. If there is none (or if you're using a 4GB SDHC), recommend purchasing a standard SD card no larger than 2GB files size for your model camera (think of it as the camera's reusable film).
Note that 4GB and higher SDHC cards will not work with your camera as it was manufactured before SDHC format came out (this also could be causing the camera to default to built-in memory). Again, the maximum SD card size that your camera can use is 2GB. These can still be purchased, and are relatively inexpensive on Amazon.

I Have a Casio Exilim Camera. And I Have a Memory Card, and a USB cord. But I Want to use the memory card to upload my pictures. Because when i use the USB cord after i upload them they automatically...

Bet your using a 4GB or larger card, and also that your computer is more than a few years old (unlike your grandma's newer machine). If so, the problem is that the card reader on your computer was meant for only standard SD cards (2GB ore less), and not the high capacity SDHC cards (like your 4GB card). This is no problem, as very inexpensive USB thumb drive card readers are widely available. You can get one for only a few dollars on Amazon. They're also available at your local store in the camera department, but for a somewhat higher price. Just make sure that from wherever you purchase that the reader is stated capable of reading SDHC (some of the older ones can't).

I have a casio exilim exz280 and i can't find what kind of memory card compatability it has anywhere. my main question is, will it support a SDHC 16gb card?

The manual does not specify a maximum size but says it does support an SDHC card. The smallest SDHC card is 4GB which is enough for 29 minutes of video recording. Therefore 8GB would seem adequate, although there seems no reason why 16GB should not be supported.

You can downloaded the manual free, here:-

SD card

It seems that you are using an SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card. It's incompatible with certain older models of cameras. I think the most you can put in your camera is 2GB. I've done some research and it doesn't say anything about your camera being SDHC compatible. Return the card, get a 2GB.

Exilim camera, PNY optima SDHC memory card error

Hi

  1. 1 Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  2. 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  3. 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  4. 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  5. 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  6. 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.
