AV1 red, white and yellow cable ports not working. I use digital satellite service for my television through a box from my provider which only uses the AV1 port? I checked all the wires which were working...

Your post is a little confused (or I am!), why would a digital box only provide a low resolution output which is what the composite standard is - yellow video composite red/white=stereo audio.
You also say that you checked the wires, so you've seen the picture and heard the audio on AV2? So why not use AV2? There is no reason to use AV1 other than you may be using the other inputs for other equipment.
Check that the output from the cable box really is composite and not component, and if it really is composite check the AV colour system in the TV menu is set to Auto (or NTSC if you are in USA, PAL in Europe)
I think you (or I) may have misunderstood how to connect it, can you have a look at your cable box and see what the output sockets are labelled and report back/clarify also detail what your cable equipment is please?
thanks

No colour

Hi, Definitely a TV issue for me. Changed Wii to another input on TV and resolved situation. Need now to check how to get my TV to recognize colour on AV2 & 3 because I prefer to keep DVD input as AV1!

I had to use the (RCA) video inputs and not the component inputs. These are the ones made for video games. If you want to use the component input (Component cables are Red,White Red, Green, Blue). If you don't have any, you should be able to purchase them at your local electronics store like Radio Shack or Best Buy. Hope this helps, read below:

TV (This is your cable connection or TV; coax)
Component 1 (Must use component cables for this input/output; Red and White for audio, Red, Blue, Green for Video)
Component 2 (Must use component cables for this input/output; Red and White for audio, Red, Blue, Green for Video)
HDMI 1 (HDMI Cable)
HDMI 2 (HDMI Cable)
Video 1 (Must Use RCA cables, or RCA jacks; Red and White for Audio, Yellow for Video)
Video 2 (Must Use RCA cables, or RCA jacks; Red and White for Audio, Yellow for Video)

I'm trying to hook up my Xbox 360 to my Advent LCD TV and I can get it working but the game has no sound or color. I've tried several plug combinations but I just keep getting the same results. So where...

The best thing to use is a scat converter Yellow,Red, and White to scat, but other than that the Yellow,Red, and White plug into the back or the side of the tv.
if you use the converter it wont auto detect like it does with a DVD player or free view box,you will have to change the tv source manual AV1 or AV2 for the scat & S-VIDIO for the Yellow,Red, and White.
If that doesn't work try it on another tv if it's still the same change the cable,or if your tv's HD get a HDMI cable.

You need to plug them into the AV1 or AV2 plugs, they are colour coded so you know which lead goes into which socket.

Hope this helps

How do i connect my xbox 360 to my yamaha rx-v665 receiver

If you are gonna connect the x-box to the yamaha directly you would have to connect the red and white cables to one of the inputs on the reciever and the yellow to the video on your tv.

When trying to switch from AV1 to AV2 with the

The Red, White & Yellow connectors are your composite inputs usually classed as AV3 or component. The AV1 input is a Scart connection, if you have a scart cable, connect this as your AV source & the TV will switch from AV to component.

Trouble with 360 and hdtv

The cable your refering too are called Component leads.

The red and white are for your audio and the remainder are the video. All you need to do is connect the component leads matching up all the colour in the correct ports then using your av/source button change the tv to component
You will still have to connect the red and white audio cable to the tv as well.

that should sort your xbox out.

cheers

I am trying to connect an akai dvd player to directv, please help

ruettab,

good day. to connect your any DVD player to any TV screen always remember this color code

from DVD back part:

yellow = video out

red/blue/green( in a row) = component video out ( this can only be used for screen with component video inputs)

Black = digital audio ( rarely use unless)
Red and white (in a row) = Audio output (left and right audio)

where to connect from TV screen.

Locate where A/V INPUTS (audio/video socket) from your TV screen, you can see it either at the BACK/SIDE or somtimes in FRONT of TV screen , having marked as "AV1"AV2"AV3' .

Once you found TV input, you must first have RCA cable (color code cable to connect player to screen) then connect the RCA cable at the back of your DVD player, simply follow color code

RCA yellow marked cable = DVD yellow socket
RCA RED and WHITE marked cable = DVD RED and white socket (second row for your player)

then connect the other end of the RCA cable to TV screen, first select which input where you gonna place the DVD player ( either AV1, Av2 or Av3 if do have multiple inputs)

once decided which INPUT to connect the player.
ex. if you select AV1 as input there would be 3socket on its row (yellow/red/white)

now connect the other end of RCA cable to the screen by following the same color code:

RCA yellow cable = TV screen A/V1 input yellow socket
RCA RED and White = TV screen A/V1 input red and white socket.

cheers,
mark
