Weather king select furnace

At the opposite side of the burners from the igniter there is a small metal probe/rod situated where the flame would blow across it during operation. This rod is for flame verification so the gas valve will know that the gas is being ignited. Often that probe will get carbon built up on it which will cause the furnace to light but then abruptly shut off because "the probe doesn't know there is a flame there". A fine grit sandpaper works well to restore it's conductive ability. However, if the furnace runs for a while before it shuts off you could very well have an obstruction in the vent pipe or an obstructed indoor coil. If cleaning the flamerod doesn't remedy the problem, I strongly recommend a qualified serviceperson look at it! The furnace could well be turning itself off because something is getting too hot and coming back on when it cools. Good luck.

Does the furnace stays off?.
Furnace are ment to cycle on and off because of limits .If you set to 70 furnace would cycle several times before reaching that temperature.
Just make sure your filters are clean and you got proper return air flow because lack of air flow will cause furnace to shut off sooner than normal

Tempstar 10 not blowing cold air

Hello, sounds like the unit may have a low refrigerant charge due to a leak. It cannot keep up with the heat load during warmest parts of the day is a sign of a low charge.

My furnace keeps blowing cold air after it is supposed to shut off. Why?

If you mean the heat or AC cycle, it has to do this to cool down the furnace/coils. It is a safety cycle and do not try to defeat this purpose.

Our Armstron (magic Chief) oil furnace keeps shutting on and off during the heating cycle.

I will try to help, but a little more info would be great, when you say it shuts off, it is important to determine if it is the burner or the blower that is shutting off.
If the burner is shutting off and coming back on, the safety "fan and limit" control is getting to hot,,
If what I have listed above, there are several things that can cause it;
1. The first step is to make sure that the air filters are clean, the return air grills are clear, no objects covering them.
2. This part needs to be approached with care, Turning off power to the furnace is a must; then clean the blower area, and if it is a belt driven blower setup, inspect the belt, looking for cracks on the surface that makes contact with the pulleys. If the belt is old, it may be stretched and slipping on the pulleys, reducing the air that is being blown across the furnaces firebox, this will cause the furnaces safety "fan and limit" control to over heat and shut off till it cools off, then it will turn back on.

If the blower is the one that is shutting on and off, you would notice this at the supply registers in each room, air blows, then stops. This usually caused by really cold air blowing across the firebox, like after the house has been cold - over night, and usually will start operating more along the normal side of things as the home warms up.
Either the blower is moving to much air, blowing strongly in each room, or the furnace has been reducein it's firing rate - derated - a smaller nozzle being installed would be the main cause.... this is the first thing to check,,, if that doesn't do it, it would be highly recommended to have a experienced repair person look at it.
Remember when working in the blower area, please turn off the power to the furnace to save the fingers.
I hope this will give you a game plan.
Have a great evening.
Sincerely,
Paul Gibson

My furnace heats the house well, but during the cool down it actually blows cold air dropping the temperature causing the furnace to re-ignite. How do I adjust? Goodman - GMS9/GCS9

Depending on the age of the furnace you may be able to adjust the cool down. On some furnaces there is a silver box usually made by honeywell. This is your fan limit control. If you take the cover off you will see a dial with different temperature settings with 3 pins in a grove. The first one is fan on with temperature rise this turns the blower on when the furnace starts and warms up. The second is the fan off after furnace shuts down, this would be the one you want to adjust to a higher temperature to keep the blower from blowing cold air. The last pin is the high limit if the furnace gets to this temperature it will shut the furnace off but keep the blower running. Make sure that the thermostat fan option is set to auto and not on.

Coleman gas furnace. Burner will re-fire for a few seconds during the cooldown. Model G8C07512MUB12A

This is a little complicated because it can be several things and you need to provide more specific info....It could be your furnace is shutting off on the High Limit...which means your furnace is running too hot...check the filter , return air vents etc would be an airflow problem...dirty blower....Furnace can be too big for your house....when the furnace shuts off on High LImit , the fan will continue to blow air , cooling it down as usual and once the furnace cools enough to reset the high limit trhe furnace will Ignite again as long as the thermostat is still calling for heat . The furnace could also be running too long and getting too hot....your Ductwork can be too small...many factors come into play
