Simplest solution is an external USB Card reader connected to an External USB port.

I suggest that you get a card reader that has it's own power source if possible as card readers tend to draw a lot of power from the USB bus.

Is there an SD card slot on the Dell OPTIPLEX 780?

There is no card reader on most models of the Optiplex 780. There may be a card reader on the SFF unit. The MT, desktop and USFF do not include a card reader. You can add a 3.5" internal card reader to the MT or desktop models for under $20. You could use an external USB card reader with any Optiplex 780.

I hope this helps.

Gateway desktop can't read a sdhc 32gb memory card

well it should read it unless the reader is incapable of reading cards of that capacity.. Are you sure the card is good ? try it on another reader..

A firmware update wont be of any help there since the capacity is HARDWARE not software. If the card is good you will need to replace the reader to a newer model or acquire and external card reader.

SD Card is stuck in the memory stick slot

If your Memory Card reader is internal remove from the system and then remove the face plate for the Memory Card Reader. Then remove it. if it's external then do the same disassemble and then remove it from the card reader.

Acer t180 card reader problem not work yet! do i need driver?

Hello,

The card reader is integrated with Windows Vista and XP so you will not need additional drivers.Make sure that your card reader is connected properly on your mainboard. At the back of you cardreader, there should be one thick black cable going onto the mainboard.

Pc acer aspire T650. My card reader fail so i took it out from my pc. Since then I have problem to make my pc read my external HD and the 2 usb in front don't work and since a very long time. Where can I...

hi,
Infact front USb ports are connected with the card reader it self.If you are havingthe separate connectors then you will have to connect those to motherboard to make those USBs to work.

You can get any 9 in one card reader from nearest hardware vendor and deploy it.

thanks

SD MEMORY CARD!!!!

Hi Sandra,

If you are attempting to transfer photos off an SD card in your camera and you are connecting your camera directly to your PC then you may want to get an external SD card reader as this is a fairly common problem and an external reader should solve it.

If you are already using a card reader I would think that the cables connecting the reader to your computer are defective. To test this try connecting your card reader to a different USB port, if it functions fine then you know the problem is with the previous port you were connecting too.

ALSO, check in "my computer" and see if it registers as a removable drive there. If not, then check in the device manager while the card is inserted and look for any yellow icons. There is a chance that the card reader need a driver installed or updated.

Hope this helps and please take a second to rate!

Monitor receives no signal, hard-disk light is on

You might need to change your AGP video card (the card where you attach your monitor cable). If a separate video card is not present, you might be getting your video directly from your mainboard. If the latter is the case, you can buy or borrow a PCI card with video port, insert it in a PCI slot in your mainboard and attach your monitor there.

Went further in troubleshooting by removing the components one by one. Turned out that the soundblaster fx card needed to be reinstalled after a normal boot sequence was completed.
Remembering that Creative and vista have had problems in the past it was the first component removed and wala.
