Question about HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I have a problem with my HP 8500 where it is always jamming or indicating there's a paper jam when there isn't one. The rollers are very noisy. It has been a problem from the first, but is now impossible to print at all. It is a year old.

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

Xerox phaser 8500 paper jam

Before you clear the paper out, If you press the question mark button (?) it will display the Jam Code which will narrow down what kind of jam you have. You can look it up if you can get access to a service manual.

Oddly, the most common jams aren't caused by rollers and need a DM camshaft 020K14801 changed instead. If you have jams right at the tray then get the roller kit 604K42200 after all.

HP LJ 4L paper jam light flashes indicating a peper jam after printer makes a grinding noise. What can be the problem?

You may be right about the worn gear as a factor but I used to have a LJ 4 and whenever it indicated a paper jam it was always right. In some cases, the jam was a tiny scrap of paper deep inside. It took a flashlight and examination of every bit of the paper path to find it

Orange light blinking, cleared paper jam, changed printer cartridge, won't print subsequent documents.

Double check all doors/ rollers for small pieces of paper stuck in the rollers. Sometimes just opening the door in question and closing will reset the paper jam sensors. Paper jams can be smaller than your pinky finger nail. So double check,

Comment if it still isn't working.

HP Officejet 8500 says "Paper

There is definitely a paper jam. It's up to you to find it. Sometimes it's a very small piece of paper. I have worked with these printers before. If it says paper jam, that means there is a paper jam. Look a little bit more closely. I garranty you 100% there is a paperjam.

Always paper jam. need solution

hello, the first thing i would recommend you to do is listen to machine, if you hear the machine clicking, the sound is rythmic, sorry, it does not carry a beat, but the noise is not normal, if you do hear the noise then yes your printer is broken. if you have lower tray, check to see if your jamming from that tray, you can clean both feed rollers for both trays, and try again, if document feed jam, check to see if something tore in the paper guide.

Paper Jam HP OfficeJet 8500

etechrepair.jpg Constant jam indication. This gear is more than likely the cause after exhausting all other avenues. Also nearly impossible to get to let alone replace even if HP offered the part. There is a black cover over the clutch assy that can be removed to reveal the gear. In most cases the gear is either sitting in the bottom of the machine or split down one side. This is the second machine that I have diagnosed with this problem in a very short time. If you have this broken gear, consider it toast. Matt / E-tech Copier and printer repair.

Not feeding paper very noisy whin it tries shoes to be jammed

You could have a paper jam that's jamming the gears that turn to feed the paper. Make sure there's no paper inside jamming up the roller bar. The other possibility is that you have a stripped gear, that is chattering when it tried to drive the paper feed roller.

Make sure you get an estimate if you get it repaired, since the cost of repair can often justify just going ahead and buying a new one.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Always paper jam.

Check to see if something isn't blocking the paper path.

You could try cleaning the feed rollers as well.
