To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper and I wouldn't recommend doing it especially if it's under warranty.

Bios password toshiba satelite l300

Method 1 (Flash BIOS)
Flash BIOS for Satellite L300-ST2501
Flash BIOS for Satellite L300-ST3502

1. Remove the battery and don't turn on the laptop (a minimum of one day or more). To remove electric current, which is still stored in the laptop. Based on experience, can turn a normal laptop, try to enter windows.
2. Download Flash BIOS slb0v150.exe then open the file, select Install, and select Install from Windows - OK.
Flash BIOS can remove the BIOS password

Method 2 (Manual)

With solder, remove the BIOS IC, wait about 10 seconds, then plug it back. To remove the BIOS IC, you must remove the screws down and the LCD.

I hope this information helpful.

After my Toshiba Satellite L300 was dropped, everytime I switch it on I'm asked for a password? Is this BIOS password? What can be done?

If it is a password that is being asked before the Windows Logo, then it is the BIOS password. Unfortunately we cannot reset the CMOS battery from a laptop. You need to contact Toshiba Support for a generic password for this.

Need to shut off bios password on my L300

Removing the BIOS battery will not reset the BIOS and remove the BIOS password.
On earilier model Toshiba a parallel port dongle will remove thw BIOS password.

TOSHIBA BIOS PASSWORD DONGLE
You can build a dongle that plugs into the printer port.
Purchase a 25 pin male D sub connector and solder insulated wires to the various pins as listed below. The pins are numbered on the connector

http://www.tilman.de/sonstiges/toshiba/dongle1.jpg this is a picture of the finished dongle

1-5-10,
2-11,
3-17,
4-12,
6-16,
7-13,
8-14,
9-15

Plug the finished dongle in the printer port and power up the laptop. The password will be reset, go into the BIOS configuration to check the BIOS password, you may have to disable the BIOS password.
