I need instructions on how to replace front boot seal on my neptune front load washer

The solution offered is not for my model of the Maytag Neptune I have. My complete model number is MAH 7500 AWQ. It is the model that has all it's operating buttons on a raised back panel. These buttons are "touch" buttons, not traditional push in ones.

The solution offered to me looks to be of an older model with front panel operating controls etc.

    thank you, tim

The model number you sent me instruction for is incorrect. My Maytag NEPTUNE is a MAH 9500 AWQ. This makes the 4th time I have sent this information in, and still have not received the correct response. Time is money, and mine is way over due.

    Please help, tim

i HAVE COMMUNICATED NOW FOR THE 5TH TIME with "FIXYA" THAT YOU SENT ME THE IMPROPER MODEL NUMBER [9700] INSTRUCTIONS, AND THAT MY MODEL IS MAH 7500 AWQ.

I need the right instructions for my model replacement of the "boot seal"

This was exactly what I needed. Very easy replacement process. Most of the work was cleaning up years of spilled detergent and some corrosion due to water and liquid soap spills.

SOURCE: I need to replace the molding door boot seal on my

you need to first unplug the unit. next you need to remove 4 screws that hold the dispenser lid on. next open the door remove 4 screws. remove the door and the out side panel. next located to the top left and right you will see a bracket with a 5/16 bolt remove them and take the bracket off. next lift the lid. you will have access to the door seal. you will see a spring at the top that is the band that holds the seal to the tub. the front of the seal just peels off. when putting the band and spring back on may be a little tricky. get one side up to the top gett a piece of duct tape and secure it. so that you can properly get the rest of the band on without fighting with it. get some vise grips and pull the spring over and attach to the part that is tapped. let me know if this helps or if you need more instructions.

We are having a leak on the bottom of the front loader door on the wash cycle

Check the door seal. There is a boot drain on the seal that may be clogged. This drain allows the water to drain out of the seal when water gets in there. You may need to replace the seal. HEre is a link to the part you will need.

Mildew smell

PLEASE KKEP IN MIND THAT THE MAYTAG NEPRUNE FRONT LOAD WASHER IS WHAT GOT MAYTAG IN TROUBLE!!!!!!
Whirlpool bought MAYTAG about 3 year ago.

THe mold is because of the rubber boot in the front of the door. PLEASE check to see if the rubber seal has a small hole in the lower bottom of the seal to let small portions of water drain out. If you DO NOT have this small hole, you need to replace the rubber boot with one that has a hole.
NOW, WORD TO THE WISE and this is what I tell ALL FOLKS that have a FRONTLOAD WASHING MACHINE:
AFTER you washer in the washer LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN so that the washer can ventilate and remove any moisture that is within.
ALSO, every 2 months, get a WHITE CLOTH with WARM WATER and a littl;e bit of BLEACH and CLEAN THE RUBBER BOOT!!!!!!

Black mold on washer door seal

this is a very common problem with the neptune washers.
use a javex and hot water solution and scrub the rubber boot.
you should also do an acid wash. (hot wash with bleach, and no clothes) if there is mold on the boot it is inside the washer as well.

There is a way to prevent this. when the washer is not in use, hang a small towl on the washer door, and do not close the door.
this will allow for air movement in the washer

Maytag front loader washing machine. Mould

How old is the washer? Did you try straight bleach on a towel and placed over the "mold" spot for about 5 minutes, be sure to wear gloves. Then scrub with a small brush being careful not to splatter bleach on yourself and rinse well. May need to replace the seal. I always leave the door cracked open after every use to "dry" out the inside and the boot. I also leave the drawer pulled out when not in use for that area to dry out as well. I have never had mold on the door seal of my Neptune washers, only the water holes above the dispenser drawer.
