Hello.

The most common reasons for power issues are the battery, power adapter/cord and power jack.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Also, power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

For laptops, remove the heatsink and apply new thermal paste or the motherboard may need replacing.

Leave the power jack fix and heatsink application to an expert.

Hope this helps.

Try another AC outlet, Try another Cord/charger with the EXACT same power specs. If the AC jack has been damaged due to pulling on the AC cord, you may have to replace the AC jack. Most likely, there is no in-line fuse in a laptop.

Router not turning on

It may be the AC jack has been damaged due to pulling on the power cable, wiggle the plug while in the device. Try to reset the device to default settings. After a firmware update the setup CD may not work, go online to reconfigure.

Now it is saying check tel line

There's some problem with the phone's ability to detect a dial tone. Check that the phone's base is connected to your home's AC power and the telephone cord is securely connected at the phone base and wall jack. If still not working, continue checking by disconnecting the cord from the base and connecting a different working phone. If the phone does not work while connected to this cord - there's a problem with the cord. Try replacing the cord between the jack and phone. If it still won't work - you may need to contact your telephone company's repair service to get it fixed. Good luck!

Presario laptop issue with power indicator light and detecting powers supply

Sounds like your DC Power Jack is bad or broken. The DC Power Jack is where the power cord plugs into the laptop? Most times it get damaged by too much stress on it such as sitting in bed with the laptop, or putting the laptop in the laptop bag with the power cord still plugged in.

Take an ink pen and put it into where the Power Cord normally plugs into the laptop. If the pin inside the DC Jack is loose or wiggles then the jack is probably bad. Sometimes the jack can be completely burned out and you can smell smoke .

If the internal DC Power Jack is loose, you will have totake the laptop apart to repair it. The DC Power Jack is on themotherboard and most times it is soldered to the motherboard. That meansyou will have to desolder the old one and solder a new one in it's place. Sometimes the dc power jack sits in a slot between the bottom case and palmrestwhich hold it in place and has a cable harness that plugs into the motherboard.

Power jack replacement Dell Inspiron 6400

When you press the power button, no lights, fans, beeps, anything?

Is the power jack moving around? If not, I would check the charger and cord to make sure power is getting through to the plug that goes into the jack.

Usually this means replacing the motherboard, but you could also have a bad power supply/charger. How old is the computer and is it still under warranty?

I am assumning that you don't have battery power so trying to power up that way isnt an option. The dc jack is a good place to check but that doesnt usually go bad or have many problems. It could be something as simple as your ram or battery pack not being seated properyly. Most new computers will not power up if it detects a component not installed properly as a safety feature. I would try making sure your battery and ram are in there good first and then give any other removable compionents a thorough look over. The dc jack might be a pain to replace so I would save that for last resort. Hope this has helped, good luck.
