It is possible that there iis a compnent failure in teh POR (Power-on-reset) circuit. This is NOT DIY unless you are adept at electronics. I do NOT have the shematic for this keyboard. I looked at the schematic for a PA500 which MAY be similar and it has a touch screen. SOMETIMES dirt gets under the edge of a touch screens and confuses the processor with a false input. If yours fits this scenariom you might try running a piece of copy paper under the edge where the case hits the LCD screen.

I have a Yamaha PSR 2000 keyboard. You can not see the keyboard. It lights up but you can not read anyting on it. It is blank. Can it be replaced what part would one need to fix the problem? I had scr

If you have a light behind the screen then the backlight is working. It could be a connection from the board to screen but this is very unusual.

These screens have been know to fail and will need replacing.

The screen is not a simple and requires an extra driver board and various components to be replaced/changed. You will need soldering equipment for surface mounted resistors etc if wish to undertake this.

The replacement kits including the screen cost around £ 400.00

Have you tried a factory reset?

Hold down top / highest white key whilst turning the keyboard on.

Good luck

I have a Yamaha PSR-275, for YEARS I played it and one day I turned it on and I started practicing and when I hit one random note (don't remember which one) the whole keyboard turned off. Turned it back on...

My guess is the power socket has failed, a very common fault.
To test my theory plug in the keyboard and turn on without pressing any notes. Move the plug where you plug it into the back of the keyboard from side to side and see if the power turns off. If it does you need to replace the the input socket and probably reinforce the solder tracks on the PCB as they often break. If you can solder the part can be found here or take to a local repairer who should be able to sort it out quickly for you.

Technics PR-305 Digital Piano

It sounds like you are in need of a new piano. These are common issues with keyboards. The age is a big factor. It would cost just as much in repairs as it would to buy a new keyboard.

If you are using battery power, replace them... if an adapter, chaeck the adapter is the right one and is making good contact. More than this you will need to have it serviced.

I had the same problem. You might try the keyboard on good fresh high quality batteries. If this solves the problem, buy another ac power adapter. Good luck!!
