Question about Rheem Tankless Hot Water Heater Rtg-74pvp-2 7.4 Gpm
Ain't necessarily so. I just went through this. The unit worked flawlessly for six years then crapped out with a code 12. Using the engineering manual available from the Paloma site, I removed the complete burner assembly and sanded each flame rod and igniter. I brushed the burner assembly with a stiff paintbrush and reinstalled. Worked better than it has in a long time. The flame rods and igniters get a crud build up that needs to be cleaned off. It is a major disassembly including removal of the PC board - but the connectors will only go on to a particular spot.

your error code, is you have clogged burners, and they will have to be cleaned,
THIS IS A GAS PRODUCT, INCORRECT REPAIR CAN CAUSE A EXPLOSION, AND DEATH CAN OCCUR. IF YOU DO HAVE THE PROPER TOOLS SUCH AS MANOMETER AND LEAK DETECTORS, I SUGGEST YOU CONTACT A SERVICE COMPANY
