Question about Canon i860 InkJet Photo Printer

2 Answers

Hi - After a paper jam, I pulled the paper out a short ways from the top. Then, my printer was flashing green and orange light. I have re-installed the print driver and when aligning print heads the test print was almost complete, looking good when I got the message that the printhead had overheated. I unplugged, waited, plugged back in and tried again. Green and orange light still flashing - get message to contact repair center. Anything else I can try on my end?

HI - reset instructions were not enough to solve this prob. Before resetting I was able to turn the printer on and realign the print heads (even though I got message yellow ink was empty and ignored it). Then, printed 2 pages just fine. Then, opened top intending to change the yellow ink, but the ink cartridges stayed to the right, out of view, and orange and green lights resumed flashing. At this point, I did reset instructions. Didn't work - lights still flashing. Opened top again and noticed the print cartridges are now partially in view.

Hello, Kristina.

See if you can gently grasp the cartridges. Replace the cartridges, run the alignment and cleaning maintenance.

Hope this resolves your problem.

At the lower back of the printer, there is a panel. Open it and if there's a paper stuck, pull down the two green locks on both sides to pull out the paper. Push the green locks upwards and close the panel. Then open and close the top panel of the printer to 'refresh' printing.

Kyocera fS-920KX. Not printing

There are actually some certain meaning on the red light and green light showing different information to user. The summaries are:
1) Green On, Red Off = Printer Ready.
2) Green Fast-Flashing, Red Fast-Flashing = Printer warm up.
3) Green Fast-Flashing, Red Off = Printer off-line.
4) Green Slow-Flashing, Red Off = Processing Data.
5) Green Off, Red On = Cover Opened, Toner Empty or Developer Unit / Drum unit missing.
6) Green Off, Red Fast-Flashing = Paper Jam or waiting for jam reset.
7) Green Off, Red Slow-Flashing = Paper Empty or Paper tray is not inserted.
8) Green Off, Red Off = Printer power is off.
9) Green Very-Slow-Flashing, Red Off = Printer in sleep mode.
10) Green (any condition above), Red Slow-Flashing = Toner low or paper empty.

So what is your printer condition? Better know what is going on your printer so can solve the problem

Orange lights (3)

Three orange flashes between green indicates a paper jam on this model. Look closely in the paper feed area and the paper exit area for any torn scraps of paper. Also open the top and check in the platen area (where the print head moves back and forth). If you don't see anything, it's possible that a sensor has broken or gone bad.

Had paper jam. removed paper, now getting 11 flashes, but cannot clear error as per manual instructions. getting service error 6A00.

I have the Canon Pixma iP4000R printer. I had an error code of 6A00 and my power light was blinking/flashing green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange (12 oranges).

I tried the “waste ink counter reset reset” procedure: Power on while holding the stop/reset button and pushing the service button twice, then pushing the stop/rest button 4 times to clear the error, but that didn’t work.

My ink cartridge carrier wasn't moving-staying in the center. I thought I had a paper jam.

I looked at a few blogs about my error on other Canon Pixma models and they kept talking about “sponges”.

The following is what I discovered that cleared my error and now my printer is back to printing!

The “sponges” are 2 hard pieces of absorbing plastic or something of the like. I was looking for a softer material like the long thin gray foam strip material in my printer. The 2 "sponges" on my Pixma iP4000R were next to each other-one was rectangular and one was square-like. Originally they were white but the ink made them black/navy.

The "sponges" are located on the right under where the ink cartridge carrier "rests".

I didn't see the sponges at first, as there was a white backwards “L” shaped plastic piece that had a spring attached to it(purge unit). The “L” shaped piece was moved forward out of its place. I used my pen tip and pushed that piece back and found that the rectangular "sponge" had popped out of its place.

I used a pen tip popped both “sponges” out and rinsed them with water and voila they were once again white. I think the rectangular one had so much ink on it it popped itself out of place.

My error is gone and I can print again!
