Toget proper heat, keep your temp setting at 30+ degree and also mode in "heat"position. If still no heat, check your heating sensor for closed circuit by anOHMs metre. If it's with heatingelement check power to element. If power is there but still no heat meanselement defective. Replace new heating element. Thanks.

Hi, start at the thermostat on this unit if nothing else has been done as far as trouble shooting and repairs. 3 months doesn't mean a thing when it comes to a/c and refrigeration & heating parts. Check the stat operation, or replace it, and I am 99.9% sure this will solve your control problems.
Sincerely, and a good day to you!

I have a Goodman a/c, furnace outdoor combo unit the the fan won't come on for the furnace. When I set the thermostat to heat, I can see the two heating coils come on, then glow bright orange for about 20...

To me it sounds like you need a fan limit switch to sense temperature increase and turn your fan on. At least you know that everything else is working. With out a schematic I can not tell you what type of limit this would be but I would look for a sensor either mounted right above the coils or beside them.
Have you looked on the inside of cover plate for heating and blower compartments.Often times they will put a wiring diagram there. Wished I could be of more help. Thank you

Furnace is 7 years old. Will not stay running for more than 5 min. Will start up again after shutting off and then run for another 5 min. Suggestions?

Check the air filter. Jump out thermostat to see if it stays running longer, if so replace thermostat. Make sure all return air ducts are clear of debris. If furnace has a Fan/Limit switch, make sure tabs are set at 100, 140 and 200. Sounds like something may be heating up and shutting unit off till it cools back down.

Carrier 38CKC042300. oUTSIDE UNIT FAN WAS TURNING REAL SLOW. ac UNIT IS OFF BUT FAN TO OUTSIDE UNIT IS STILL TURNING. sHOULD NOT BE TURNING AT ALL WITH AC UNIT OFF

The outside fan may run if the unit is in defrost mode this is normal for most heat pumps it is there way of trying to keep the outside unit from staying iced over so the next time the unit runs it will have air flow through the coil and the ice will not be there to prevent air flow.

Compressor kicks out and it's new

First of all, clean your outside coils so that you are assured of good cooling air. The compressors have an overtemp device that is usually internal to protect them against heat. If you have an air compressor use it to blow out the coils good. If the compressor will start, the capacitor is good so it sounds like a cooling problem with the compressor

Honeywell Old T874D1512 dual heat/cool thermostat

I think I understand what you are saying....First, that switch marked On and Auto, is to control the blower fan only. So when you switch that to On, it turns on the blower, but not the actual heat. It sounds more like a problem at the furnace then at the thermostat.

Rheem furnaace blower stays on

On a furnace the fan is controlled by a computer and a sensor ot a oldstyle fan thermostat. Basically it waits till the furnace heats up a little and then turns it on and after it shuts off it will run till the thermostat cools back down may take a few mins. In cool mode the thermostat controls the fan so it shuts down immediatly. This is why the thermostat asks you if its electric or gas heat. Should have a switch somewhere for this.
