Question about Sony VAIO Digital Studio PCV-RZ22G PC Desktop

1 Answer

None of my usb ports function as "high-speed" 2.0 , and I constantly get the message that my device can perform faster if I connect it to a high speed USB 2.0 port. I bought this computer brand new in 2003, and have always had this problem. Now it is really causing me issues with all of the itunes syncing I do with my different devices. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers to no avail. AIs this a common problem with this model of PC?

You usb ports are to slow for the usb 3.0 device that message keeps coming up saying that the device is better then your usb ports you have on your computer...almost every computer now have 3.0 usb ports that have very fast transfer rates for data back and forth. well i tell you the message you get is not trouble with your usb port it just trying to tell you the transfer rate will be slower with your usb 2.0 port... i hope this helps you.

Recently, when I insert a USB flash drive into my laptop's USB port, I get the message: This USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a HI-SPEED USB 2.0 port.

Your laptop has USB1 port and the USB 2 message will appear if you plug an USB 2 device into this USB port.
You maybe able to upgrade the USB port to USB 2 if there is a BIOS upgrade available from the laptop manufacturer's WEB site.
If not you maybe able to get an USB 2 PCMCIA card to install into the PCMCAI slot on your laptop.

USB Port can preform faster error message

This is because you are plugging in a USB 2 device to a standard USB port, or a USB 3 device into a USB 2 port. The computer is just telling you that if you upgrade the hardware, the device will work faster. Its more of an information message than an error. Your device should still function fine.

Slow transfer

It could be that the USB port you are using to transfer the data is not a "High Speed 2.0" enabled port.
Does it give you a pop-up message when you plug it in, one that says "This device can perform faster".
If so, It is not a High Speed USB port. Try using another USB port on your PC.

Transcend 2GB Jet Flash V30 problem

There are some specification of USB speed. There are usb 1.0 , 1.1 , 2.0 . 2.0 is fastest among these. Normally back panel USB ports are USE 2.0 s. If you have installed your motherboard successfully , they should be working fine. Please try Installing those. If it not works, probalby your motherboard has not hte capablity of running usb 2.0 s.

thanks

If you have a USB port on the back of computer plug it in there. Or use USB extension if it is uneasy for you to plug your pen drive from time to time. From there you can hook up your pen drive much easy.

Usb 2.0

Hi,
this is a common error with operating systems and devices.
If you go into my Computer/system/device manager. And remove the installed USB devices. shutdown the computer, and reboot it. then try putting your USB device in.
What general happens, is that if you have had an older device in the USB port at any time, the port configures itself to this setting. options are to try another port on the computer ( some older ports only support usb1.1 )
ensure you have up to date drivers on the connecting device and on the connecting computer.
Hope this helps Mike @ Compurepair.

USB2 high speed not recognize

Try opening up the device manager and unistall everything in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Then reboot and let windows reinstall the USB controllers. Windows should now be able to recognize properly USB2 devices.
