Is your printer Canon? Error code pertains to "other hardware error" most probably the logic board. Errors may be also be cause by some stucked items inside the printer. Check first the price of a new printer before sending for repair as a new one might be cheaper than to have it repaired. If the unit is still under warranty, then have it repaired by the authorized service center.

The service error 6500 refers to "other hardware error". This error results from printer hardware failure & nothing much a user can do except replacing the malfunctioning hardware. 6500 is generally logic board error code. If the printer is under warranty, you better ask for replacement.
