SOURCE: gas range igniters won't shut off

The problem that you're describing is commonly associated with the spark modulator. It usually occurs after a spill or when the ignitor electrodes have remained wet after a cleaning. If after a day or two it continues to spark intermittently on its own, then the only recourse would be to replace the module. Hope this helps,,,, Bill

SOURCE: JGS8860BDP Jenn Air 300" Range

Hi,

I understand that a few buttons (Top 2 rows) are not working on the kitchen range.

An issue like this is most often caused by a problem in the control panel's keypad.

Resolving this requires the control panel to be replaced.

SOURCE: Jenn-air jgs8860bdp oven has strong gas smell when

Either the flame is incomplete at the burner of the oven or there is a leak. Simple tests:
1 - remove everything from the oven - even the panels that slide out, light the oven and look at the flames while rotating the button: if the flames flicker or die out then the air intake at the jet is badly adjusted.
2 - if the flame is steady then it's a leak - for that you must call a certified repairman, the oven must be dismantled for the entire gas piping to be tested.

Does it have a thermostat to regulate the temps? If it is working correctly it will turn the element on and off to maintain the set temp.

There is also some thermo couple in there to regulate the flow of gas. If that goes haywire gas does not flow properly and ........

My electrician is here to do the electrical for my new Jenn-Air Gas stove Model # JGS8860BDP.  The store said we need both 110 and 220 outlets inside the stove space.  My electricial doesn't think...

Trust the Electrician. 99.9% of the time, the only requirement for working at a retail store is to know absolutely NOTHING of the product they sell. Where an electrician is liable for any damage to property or person injured due to his/her work... not to mention to 2 years of required training to get your journeyman lisence.

Jenn Air Older Oven wall unit only

Shannbooks The first thing I would recommend to do is to reset the power. Turn off the breaker for the range for couple minutes and then turn it on. In the most cases it works. Set the time of the day and try to use the oven. If it would not solve the problem let me know. Good luck. Gendos. post back...
