i don't have a control on button but i pressed the drain/spin cycle then hit prewash 4 times and nothing happened. It beeped at me like it wasn't an option i could do.

The first time i tried to do the test it made it through c:03 and then the lights all started flashing, it beeped and switched back to custom progam normal and put 50 mins on the estimated time just like it has been doing every load. I had to switch it manually from c:05 to c:06 but every other one switched by it self. When it was done it said clothes clean and shut off i did not see it say any errors.

i did exactly as you told me to and then ran the test which came up good again. I put in a load of laundry to see if it would work and it did the same thing. I just wanted to make sure that was my problem before going out and buying one. Also i bought this used from a store they said there was something wrong with it leaking water and that was what they fixed so they could sell it again. When i opened up the access panel it has a date written on the mcu lid in marker i am curious if this means that they have reset it before and then sold it to me. I also am curious if you know where i could get that part and roughly how much it would cost.

The machine has a diagnostic provision that displays an error code when a fault is detected. Run a diagnostic test if no fault code is displayed to determine at which part of the test the fault appears and pinpoint what the problem is. Start running the diagnostic test by closing the door then pressing the Control On button if present on your machine. Select the Drain/Spin cycle then press the Prewash Option button four times and C:00 will light up on the display to indicate that the diagnostic test has been started successfully. Use the Rinse Hold button if the Prewash Option is not present on your model. Press Pause/Cancel if starting the diagnostic test fails then restart it.

Press Prewash Option button two times to advance to the next step of the diagnostic test. Refer to the table below for the steps description and the parts that are being checked.

Post back the diagnostic test results and indicate the fault code if there are any. You don't have to accept or rate this solution in order to post comments or information. But accepting a solution will not stop you from communicating with the expert. You can still communicate with the expert as long as you need assistance regarding the issue stated herein.

It sounds like the motor control unit is malfunctioning. Disconnect power and remove
the three screws attaching the lower front access panel to the cabinet
then pull the panel down and off the cabinet. You can prop up the bottom
front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to
access and remove the screws more easily. Once the panel is off, disconnect the power supply and serial communication link harnesses from the motor control unit.

Reconnect power supply to the machine then start the machine and check if the blinking disappears as if the machine seems to start. If that's so, the motor control unit is indeed malfunctioning and the only viable solution is replacing it. Also rerun the diagnostic test to confirm this condition.

It is indeed the motor control unit malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. I've not yet known someone who can reset the MCU as it is not repairable nor resettable. The date on the MCU just indicates the manufacturing date. It cost about $200. Click on the link below then enter the exact model number of your machine and select model search. Under pump and motor parts, look for the motor control unit which is usually item #1. You can also contact them.

Kenmore Elite HE4T standing water

I also have standing water after a wash cycle, but not immediately after. Given the history of very expensive repairs to this Kenmore HE4T washing machine, I suggest you do what I do, if the machine is still cleaning the clothes. Whatever cycle you use, try to be around when the machine finishes, so that you can turn off the water supply and remove the damp clothes to the dryer or clothes line. Turn on the water supply only when you want to use the machine. This works for me because I don't do many loads per week and my laundry area is right next to my kitchen. If it was in my basement, I'd have replaced it already with a top loading machine with mechanical not electronic controls.

Stop frequently on spin and rinse cycle F6 code

I have a Kenmore Elite he4t front load washer that was working fine and then we moved and now it stops washing midstream and flashes an F and a H. I have to pause and restart then it will stop washing again after a few minutes and flash the same codes again. I reset again and then it stops with 1 minute left and will not drain.
