You will have to gain access to the board i believe this model it is on the back side of unit... if you look closely at board you will see ther eis L1 coming in and then there will be a terminal labeled compressor and defrost so on so on ,,,, jump the L1 terminal to the compressor and plug in if the compressor fires up you have a bad control... this is a common problem with these brands replaced 100's of them......good luck to you hope you get her fixed.....

My GE refrigerator is no longer cooling. Model GSH25JSTC SS. I just replaced the mother board WR55X10942 and it is still not cooling. Water dispenser, fan is working fine.

Is the compressor running? Is it any good? Is the thermostat control working and cycling the compressor on? Is the self defrost mechanism stuck in defrost cycle (shuts down compressor), etc?

Is the motor getting power?
U need to check all of these areas.

Why is my LG LFX25980ST is not cooling any more?

Hi John,

are all the lights on??
if yes, check for fan fuctionality and ice build up inside the freezer portion if freezer is warm, then either the compressor electronics or your cold control could be bad. Also the LG fridges have some issues with coil leaking.

so first look at that and if is warm try to check if the compressor works.

hope this helps!

My ge profile refrigerator evaporator fan motor stops while the compressor is running

this is normal as if one compartment is cold enough but not the other compartment the sealed system has a valve in the refrigerant circulation system to channel the refrigerant flow to the compartment that is calling for cooling so that fan will cease operation in the compartment thats cool enough

My air conditioning will not turn on. The thermostat control has only four buttons, two adjusting the temp up or down, one turns the fan on or on auto and the other selects the system cool heat or off. When...

After setting the unit to cool and adjusting the temperature, the compressor should run if the light stops flashing. Check the condenser, if the fan and compressor does not run, check the contactor if it is energized or pulled in. If the contactor is not pulled in there must be no power or the holding coil is open. If the condenser fan is running without the compressor, check your compressor, high pressure switch, and capacitor.

Compressor run 10 min then stoped with VSD Fault39,or 40. I can reset, but the compressor run only after 30-45 min. He run another 10 min, then stoped again

OK I am guessing this is a modular drive. Fault 39 is an IGBT fault on phase U and 40 is an IGBT fault on phase V. Unless you are experienced it's best to have a qualified service tech do the repair. However here are my thoughts. The IGBT fault may be caused by a dirty air filter located in the side panel. It's some where around 10" x 12". If the electrical panel filter is dirty you don't get enough cooling. The IGBT's get hot and over temp. causing the above fault codes. Check the filter and replace if needed. Next in top of the electrical and drive compartment is a fan. Make sure it is operating properly. If the fan is not operating again you get no cooling air for the IGBT's. I have seen customers open the panel doors and put a large fan blowing on the drive to cool it. I don't recommend this due to the fact the air is unfiltered and can get dirt into the drive and cause damage!. However some customers have to run and take the chance. There are also other items that can cause these faults. But as I said before determining whats wrong can be very technical. Does the display show any other # after fault 39 or 40 like 39 - 3 or 40 - 2. If so this gives additional info on the fault and tests to perform like checking the ID board or interface board. Good luck hope it's a filter.

Coils freeze up, replaced thermostat, defrost unit, mother board, only marginally works when set on 2-3

It is normal for the coils to frost evenly all over but if it's not defrosted it will build up preventing proper cooling. After replacing your defrost components make sure the frost is being melted. The motherboard determines when to defrost based you your use of the freezer/fridge. It should defrost from once a day to once every two or three days.
Is the fan in the freezer running? It won't cool right without it. It should run when the compressor runs.
Are the coils frosting evenly? Uneven frost means it is low on freon and requires a tech to repair.
Is the fan underneath the fridge near the compressor running when the compressor runs. If not It won't cool properly.
Does the compressor ever cut off as it should when it reaches the selected temp.

Compressor & Evap. Fan both work for 12 hours then evap stops

I believe that because defrost is done by the mother control board this is why this is happening the part of the board that controls defrost is malfunctioning and the only way to resolve the problem is to replace the mother board part number WR55X10656 You can find the replacement board at these places below.
