I downloaded music to the Eclipse Personal Media Player, 4GB. Then when I pushed the play button, the menu read "Format Error" and I'm not able to hear the music. Please help.
Re: I downloaded music to the Eclipse Personal Media...
I got the same message on my Eclipse T180 MP3 player. I inadvertently added VIDEOS instead of music tracks and got the format error. Be sure that you're not downloading VIDEOS. Best of luck to you!

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine the type of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI and WMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format that your MP3 player uses. After video conversion then copy the video files to your MP3 player using the USB cable from your computer. Hi creer_mariah Sounds to me like you have the wrong format for the songs to play properly on your MP3 player. Your player only supports MP3 and WMA type audio files (non-encrypted). You may have to change the format of your songs to play on your MP3 player. If you have to change format of the audio files, you can download a FREE format converter at this page: http://formatoz.com/ For information on your MP3 player go to this webpage: http://www.triomp3.com/media-players/mp3-mp4-players/t2810c/ Please take time to rate me Bud
The format error is a problem with your media player only being able to play certain types of media. Your media player plays only AMV video formatted files. The solution to this problem is to convert the videos you want to watch to the AMV file format before putting them on your player. You need to download a converter: http://www.amvvideoconverter.netThen convert the files to AMV files. Then you add them to your media player as you normally would. This SHOULD work.
MP3 players can only play music that are in mp3 file format. If you copy music files to your MP3 player that are not in this format then the MP3 player cannot play these music files.
