I downloaded music to the Eclipse Personal Media Player, 4GB. Then when I pushed the play button, the menu read "Format Error" and I'm not able to hear the music. Please help.

Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine the type of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI and WMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format that your MP3 player uses. Sounds to me like you have the wrong format for the songs to play properly on your MP3 player.
Your player only supports MP3 and WMA type audio files (non-encrypted).
You may have to change the format of your songs to play on your MP3 player.

The format error is a problem with your media player only being able to play certain types of media. Your media player plays only AMV video formatted files. The solution to this problem is to convert the videos you want to watch to the AMV file format before putting them on your player.
You need to download a converter: http://www.amvvideoconverter.netThen convert the files to AMV files.Then you add them to your media player as you normally would.

i have the eclipse mp3 4gb and anything i download music or movies it shows format error even for its own manuel guide

thats because media player is a WMA format the mp3 player needs to play songs in MP3 format ,what you can do is download a converter that converts WMA to MP3 and from now on start downloading music on MP3 format
