Hi,

The ' clicking noise ' and no picture is highly suggestive of ' power supply ' on this set.You need to open the TV and have a look at the power supply board. If you find any of the caps being swelled / bulged / leaked, you need to re-solder the new one. You could get the caps from radio shack or fry's. In few cases, you might need to test the voltage and replace the power supply board. This is not an issue with lamp or color wheel as they would never cause ' clicking sound '.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

This would actually confirm an issue with power supply board. Unplugging and replugging would actually reset the energy stored in the power board. It worked for 5 minutes, and as the caps were unable to transfer the energy properly, the TV turned off or the picture went off. The reason that you hear clicking noise, as the power is entering the power supply board, however unable to get transferred to other internal components.I hope my solution would bring some light on the problem on this set.

If you wanted to repair, revert and i would be able to follow up.Be advised that i could only guide. You need to have some TV repair experience or electronics repair experience to repair this set.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Thanks and Regards

    Thanks for your response!!

If you wanted to repair, revert and i would be able to provide few pointers. Power board is the main cause, however there could be few more internal components that you need to inspect. With that, i would provide you a link to buy service manual that is a mandate as you need to have the values and the part numbers.

    Thanks and Regards

No picture but have sound

That click might have originated in 2 places: either it was the main relay disconnecting or it was the sound of a capacitor popping. Both are very severe problems - they signal that the power source of your tv has just failed.
Fixing it is a job for someone with electronics experience, if you're not one then call a repairman.

This is almost certainly the device that sends electricity to the the plasma in the panel after failing. Bring to your local repair shop and expect to pay 300-400 parts and 100-200 labour.

Sound working no picture

Depending on the events leading up to what happend...
Was your plasma tv recently transported or moved from one area to another?

One thing about plasma tv's if you lay them horizontally or has been tilt at a certain angle they will have problems projecting any picture. PLASMA tv's should ALWAYS stay vertically standing. you can let it stand where it should be for atleast 24 hours ( i recommend upto 48 hours) without plugging it in.. (no electricity what so ever) then check if it works.

About the click you heard, it might have been a blown fuse. Probably resulting from plugging in the tv while it was in a "chemical inbalance". therefore my above recommendation is a bit too late. if you still have warranty then you have no problem. just the hassle.
