For the past month the ice maker is not dispensing ice cubes. The water supply valve is turned on, there is no kinks in the water source line and the ice maker is turned on. I ran out of ideas. Do you have...

The water tube that supplies water to the ice maker is possibly frozen up.

The way to check this is to empty all food out of both sections and store alsewhere, then turn off and unplug the unit. Wait for 24 to 36 hours with the doors partially open to allow all the ice to melt.

Change the water filter and plug in and switch on.

Run off around a gallon of water to prime the system. You should then get chilled water around 4 hours later and ice after 12 hours.

If there is still no ice you may find that the trace heater on the ice maker water tube is faulty and may need to be replaced

My side by side is not making ice. I can prime it and get ice, it will not make it on its own. Any Idea ?

Push the wire shutoff arm down to place it in the "On" position,if applicable. If the ice maker has a switch on the side, place it in the"On" position. Wait 24 hours after the refrigerator is installed for ice production tobegin. The freezer section must cool down to the correct temperature. (5 degreeor less) If a large amount of ice was removed from the bin, allow 24 hours forthe ice maker to produce more ice. Follow the water source line on the back of the refrigerator to the shutoffvalve on the water supply. Turn the shutoff valve counterclockwise to open itfully. Inspect the water source line for kinks. Straighten the line to removekinks. Scrape the ejector arm with a plastic utensil to remove ice buildup.

The ice maker making noise and doesn't make ice, it seems like it si frozen

Good day,
Remove the ice maker( three clips or screws and a wire plug), and set it on a counter for 24 hours to dry out.
Reinstall and test. If that doesn't help, you'll need to replace the ice maker, and I recommend you install a new water valve at the same time.

Thank you for using FixYa

Remove door and icemaker from bottom freezer model 59673914200 -- icemaker wont turn

The ice maker switch had come unattached due to excess ice buildup, and frozen to the ice pack. The ice in the ice maker had also frozen into a solid block due to not being able to rotate. After removing the drawer trays and protecting the frozen food, turning off the refridgerator, I used a hair drier to melt and remove the ice from the ice maker, gave it time to dry out, -- No gears wer stripped,- the ice maker now works normally.

AMANA ARB2257C ice maker makes noise/doesn't eject cubes into bin

Hi: First off make sure the fridge is level. Is It too high in front? Making the rear of the icemaker overflow and jam? Also make sure the freezer section is a zero degrees, not just frozen. Ice cream should be rock hard. I hope this helps you avoid calling service. Thank You, Jeff

Ice maker repair and still no ice

  • The refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser . The valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad,
  • or it could be the ice-maker itself.
  • Another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees.
  • In addition, check the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking more water from entering.
  • Note: The water does not go to the ice-maker or thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.
btw- you can replace the whole icemaker system for around  $115.00.
  • charging you $250 for a $20 drive motor is ridiculous! my 12 year old son can change the drive motor in 15 minutes.

Turn ice maker off for 24 hours to thaw out any additional frozen lines.
Make sure that you do have water from source to unit. Water valve grit screen may be clogged with debrie or water valve is bad.
