If there is no signal ... there is no signal. You will have to physically move back into a area where there is signal from your provider or some provider that has an agreement with your carrier.

Emily, you should discuss this situation with your service provider as soon as you can ... I dont' know where you are located, it is hard for me to imagine youy are really in an area in North America and there is no service. I suspect a different problem ... but you should call your provider.

Thanks for your visit today.

Unable to send or receive text messages message shows unfortunately messaging has stopped

Samsung Galaxy S 4G: Not able to send or receive text messages (airplane mode not enabled)

Hello. It's possible that your cellular service has not enabled your ability to send and receive text messages on their end..

Call your service provider on a different phone to let them know that you are not able to send or receive text messages in all the areas you've tried. Indicate how far away from each location that you are unable to get signal from. If you can not send or receive text messages anywhere at all, this should also be addressed. They may even walk you through resetting your APN settings

In some cases, it could just be the building that you are located in that is blocking cellular service.

Sometimes, it could be a fault of the service provider. They may need to reset your connection on their side. If not, at least you can get them to try..

It sounds like it is not the fault of your phone, but has to do with the Cellular Service Provider.

Texting problem with motorola v3i

Hi ..... Its not your phone. I had to contact my IP (AOL) and then contact my cellular provider. (cingular). They walked me though what to do (Mostly your cellular prvovider will take care off all your texting problems.) You shold have a icon next to your signal strenght which indicates you are connected to your provider for texting). I still had to contact my IP so I could chat on AOL. The same thing goes for your home computer provider. YOUR CELLULAR PROVIDER CAN SET YOUR PHONE FOR TEXTING AND TAESTING. YOU HAVE TO BE ON THE CELL PHONE AND YOU MAY HAVE TO POWER OFF AND B ACK ON. GOOD LUCK

Unable to send or receive text messages. strange symbol in top left corner of screen....help!

Network provider sometimes caused this problem because of their system mulfunction or upgrade. With that sometimes we can call but texting unable to send or received, but sometimes a signal indicator is full but not connected to the network provider, it means a feak signal. My recomendation is to contact network provider hotline and tell your problem or replace simcard. If yuo totally cannot call and text then positive your fone has a signal problem and need repair on it. Good luck

Failure to receive text messages

Hello marshallcose,

I'm sorry but there are no settings for receiving text's. If you are having issues there are one or two things that come to mind.

Your phone gets a poor signal where you live, and it takes longer than usual to receive texts if at all.

Or there is a problem between your phone and the network signals/towers. The best thing you can try is to call your service provider as they will be the only ones able to make any changes if necessary.

Post back if you have any question's or comments and I will try to be of further assistance. Thank you for choosing Fixya!

MY TEXT MESSAGING WONT LET ME TEXT ANYONE. IT SAYS TEXT MESSAGE FULL BUT I HAVE NO MESSAGES IN MY INBOX OR OUTBOX

Does it show signal bars on the screen and are you able to make/receive calls? If not then that is why. AT&T does not guarantee in building service. If you do have signal and it is working other than text, then check your message center number in the device:

From the standby screen, press Menu.
Press Messaging.
Scroll to and select Settings.
Scroll to and select Text Message.
Enter appropriate Message Center Number, then press Done. The message center number that should be there is +13123149810 (and the + sign does need to be in front of it)
