There is a clog in your hose. You may have to do some disassemble to clear it out ... If you have a ship-vac, it may help you clear the clog.

Thanks for your visit today.

Look for a clog somehere in the intake path, perhaps right at the top of the canister.

Upon turning on vaccum it starts ok, but a second later it spits out some dust dirt out and does not vaccum. We hear like a poof suction when this happens. Cleaned all the tubes around it, but thinking...

The poof suction sound you hear is most likely the suction release valve opening up because there is a clog or restriction somewhere. If you don't feel qualified it is usually a better idea to take it to a qualified repair facility.

My dyson slim has good suction to the wand but won't switch to the floor suction... Help..

Flip the vaccum upside down and if there is a seperate suction hole for the floor accessory try to see if it is clogged. Otherwise a little belt may have slipped of which makes the brissles go around.

Dyson Vaccum suction not strong enough

Look for an obstruction in the air passages at the bottom and where the air enters the canister. Make sure the HEPA filter is not plugged (take it out for a test). Hope this helps!

Extreme vaccum has no suction.

Make sure you put the dirt cone back in the bucket to create the tight seal. You will have no suction without the dirt cone.

When the vaccum is running the motor gets hot & smells & is very noisy.

Sounds like yu may have a clog, either in the inlet by the brush roll, or the hose. If the hose comes loose, see if there is suction there. If no suction then it is clogged. If suction, then the inlet maybe clogged.

Vaccum has no suction

Here is what we did to fix the problem of our vacuum having no suction.
We unscrewed the three screws on the back and took the hose off of the vacuum.  Then we took the hose outside and put the water hose through the vacuum hose and turned on the water.  After about 30 second the water pushed through a dust bunny the size of a fist and a marker.  Basically, the vacuum did not have suction because the hose was clogged with dust, etc.  After reassembling the vacuum, it worked just fine.

Need a new belt -- you might have suction but you need the brush to spin (hard to help without make or model, upright or canister)
