Question about Panasonic DMP-BD60K Blu-ray/DVD Player

1 Answer

I want to connect the blu-ray player to the internet for access to Netflix, etc. I have connected the Ethernet cable from my cable modem to the player. When I try to set it up the player recognizes the ip address and the subnet mask but not the connection to the gateway.

After setting my BD60 up and getting the internet configured so that it worked properly, this weekend, I still didn't have a Netflix icon. I then found out from Panasonic customer support that only the BD65 and higher models are Netflix enabled, even though Netflix shows that all Vierra equipped machines can receive their service. Very frustrating! Now I have Youtube on my Blu-ray player which I could care less about. On the bright side my BD-Live feature now works.

If You have WiFi go into settings, go to network config. you will have options Ethernet, and WiFi! You need to set it to wifi! if you don't have wifi, then you will need an Ethernet cable hooked up to the back of player which go's to your internet modem, or router.

Is there an adapter to switch tv to smart tv

No, but most Blu-ray players are "smart" players and include a Netflix app as well as other services such as HULU, Amazon, etc. Usually, the Blu-ray player will have stickers or or emblems printed on the box or the on the player itself with "Netflix" , etc.
Connect the Blu-ray player to the TV using an HDMI cable. Connect the Blu-ray player to your router/home network with an ethernet cable or wirelessly if your player has built-in Wi-fi. Once that is done you can go to the Main Menu on the player and select Netflix. That should open the Netflix app and connect you for watching Netflix.

I cannot connect to the internet when trying to use Netflix. I have used an ethernet directly from modem to Blu-ray and still nothing. Have tried everything and nothing works.

have you set up the ethernet in the blu-ray recorder. IP address has to be set to automatically obtain otherwise it is set up manually and match the subnet mask with the modem and allocate a ip address manually.

How do I connect my Samsung BD-E5400 blu ray player to tv and watch netflix with a wired internet connection?

From the modem to the blu-ray use an ETHERNET cable. From the blu-ray to TV use an HDMI cable. They only fit in the right terminals.

My dvd player comes with netflix option. Can I hook up a router to the dvd and stream Netflix?

Short answer yes.
Detailed answer, to do this you will either connect to a router with an ethernet connection or wireless ethernet connection. Your router will share your internet connection to all of your connected devices once it is correctly installed and configured. Your router will either have a built in modem or will connect to an external modem. The modem and router will require proper set up. For more information, please provide your exact make and model for your modem, router, and dvd player. Remember, Google is an excellent source of information. Hope this helps.

It probably is your router that is the problem.
Disconnect its AC power, and reconnect it, to "reset" the router.

Also, try connecting your Blu-Ray player directly to your cable-modem (or DSL-modem), bypassing your router. Turn the modem off, and then turn on, and then turn your Blu-Ray player on, and it should be able to connect to the Internet (and NetFlix).

Try a different router.
