    Thank you,
I guess that is the answer I saw also somewhere on the web (HP??).Your answer does not address
? I cannot grab the remaining paper. It is in the machine and I can see the paper but not grab it.
? why does it happen 3 times in a row

Might there be another problem?; if so what.

Is there another entry into the machine to remove paper menants?

  • hain_uwe Jan 03, 2011

    Thnaks gain NinaE,

the card solution sounded like a neat idea. I was able to push it through afew times. But it did not push remaining paper fitzels through. They still must be somewhere in the machine as the "jammed "message still comes up.

As to the paper it is Hammermill and we had used a few boxes without problem already..

Is there no other way to access the paper trail (without getting electrocuted. The back door is just too small to get ionto the small holes.

Hello.

To clear a paper jam, lift the output tray and pull any jammed sheets out toward you with both hands. If the jam is not there, check the document feeder on top of the printer; lift the cover and pull any paper clear. Clear jams in the internal rollers by removing the rear access panel and pulling any jammed paper/pieces firmly out of the rollers.

Hope this helps.

Give this a try to remove the paper pieces: Manually push through a sheet of heavy A4 card all the way through backwards and forwards.

I would suggest using a better quality of paper to possibly reduce problems in the future.

See if this helps (from HP Support):

    Required

    ...

    Tools:
    (2) Medium sized paper clips

    Preferable Tools:
    (1) Pair
    of pliers with rubber grips
    (1) Edged tool such as wall paper knife, metal
pick or toothpick to clean out gear teeth.

    This fix applies to paper
jams the device believes are in the rear duplexer and often occurs after a real
jam that has shredded the paper inside the mechanism.

    Despite the fact
you've carefully cleaned out all the visible paper from inside with the cover
open, paper can jam the gears used to drive the rear rollers and even the
tiniest amount of shred prevents operation resulting in the impossible Paper Jam
    error.

    After
removing the duplexer, grip any of the four rubber rollers and attempt to rotate
in either direction, if they don't move freely with little effort, then continue
    with these instructions.

    Begin:

    1. Take the first paper clip and
contact the lower two brass rectangles, this fools the device into believing the
duplexer is installed, keep the contacts bridged (don't remove your hand or the
paper clip until Step 4.) THERE IS NO ELECTROCUTION RISK.
    2. Press the "OK"
button on the control panel to pretend the paper jam is cleared.
    3. CAREFULLY
OBSERVE THE pair of white gears on the left, if they seem to clutch, stall, skip
or freeze then you have paper shards which are causing the jam.
    4. Using a
firmer grip or pliers, grip the furthest left rubber roller and rotate in either
direction , the gears should rotate with your efforts and look for shards of
    paper in the gear teeth.
    5. Use the paper clip, toothpick or any appropriate
edged tool to clear the shards.

Bridge the lower contacts again and
observe if the gears rotate freely, if so then you've cleared the jam
    should be able to print.

A paper jam message continues no paper in machine. started when printing an alignment page after new cartridge.

Hi there ok Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there

Brother 2920 Fax Machine keeps jamming every few pages

Please try this and let me know how it goes

    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
    3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
    4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
    5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
    6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
    7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
    8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
    9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
    10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

    alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

    Hp psc 1315 paper jam

    Hi,

. Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge inside the all-in-one printer to dissipate before putting your hands or any metal tools inside the chassis.

    2.
Pin down the exact location of the jam. The 3 hot spots for a jam are before a sheet completely leaves the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and print carriage or between the print carriage and output tray.

    3.
Take off the front paper tray if the sheet jammed while still in the front area of the printer. If here, you should be able to see most of the paper.

    4.
Pull the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a piece deeper inside the machine.

    5.
Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed-tray area and print carriage. Carefully remove the jammed paper.

    6.
Use the carriage access door to get at a jam further inside the printer. You may need to remove the print carriage to get to the jam.

    7.
Replace all parts and return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.

    Paper Jam Error 381

Most of the time the jam will be behind the printer. Open up the back door and see if you see any paper stuck in on the roller. Also remove the printer cartridge by pulling on the piece sticking out. Easily slides back in, so no sweat on that part. Let me know if you have already tried these methods.
If that doesn't work. Unhook the Data cable on the back of the printer, shut the printer off, and unplug the power cable from printer. Wait about 3 minutes and plug everything back in and turn back on the power switch. This should erase the queued errors.
