    Hello,

The warning message does not display the full message on my screen. It was cut off at 'able'

Can you post a comment using the box below to write the full warning message.

    Thanks,

This is maybe a Solution but I have the same problem. I have done some research on this and the memory card may be a fake. On the back of the memory card there is some serial code or something. The first like (if it is not fake) will have at lease one S that is kinda sideways for lopsided. Fake ones are not like that.

Sony Camcorder playback problem

mechanical alignment! try to record for a minute and playback the result on another player/recorder, not on your camera, if the playback is not okay then your camera needs alignment, you need pro fix. You said that you've done manual cleaning already, maybe you dis aligned the mechanical parts accidentally, applying too much force on the mechanical parts of your small unit tends to bend, dislocate or move these parts out of alignment. defective videohead will never playback good video, and you said that it seems to correct only a few minutes of playback.

DV Cassettes vs Memory Stick

Well, I went to The Sony site and what I found out was that currently this camera is only ceritfied for a 512mb stick. It does say what the qualiy is the memory stick is E-mail mode with a resultion of 160x112 pixels. The TAPE mode is DV quality or 740X480 pixels. Try recording both ways and see what looks better when you play it back on you TV or PC then decide.
