JNC usb 350 digital voice recorder

I have a JNC usb 350 digital voice recorder that uses Powervoice software to transfer & store the files on the computer. I have windows xp & have been using open office & tried to upgrade the software to Office 2007. However when I did this I could now longer access the audio files from my voice recorder. The Powervoice icon was on the desktop but would not allow access. I uninstalled both the Office & Powervoice software & reinstalled them but the problem remained. What can I do to fix this?
