"Out of Range"

OK, when you boot up next time press F8, and choose BOOT IN VGA MODE, this will then allow you to ar view the monitor, now, go into settings and make sure your video card resolution settings are set to say, 1280x1280, or maybe even less to start, say 1024x768, all 32bit. Now, when you restart next, the monitor should be OK. But, if it doesn't you will have to do it again, set lower, and then get a new Video Driver, and install, and try again, at the higher settings. If you cannot even boot up in VGA Mode, then i suspect the Monitor is faulty.

Monitor Problem

That is because your computer is trying to display a picture at a higher resolution than the monitor can handle

EG. if your monitor was only capable of lets say 800 x 600 and you decided to try force it to display 1680 x 1260 your monitor would do one of three things

try but die doing so
switch itself to sleep or standby mode
scream at you that its "OUT OF RANGE"

The H & V numbers are horizontal and vertical frequencies sometimes it is possible to use the monitors own OSD to change these but please check in the monitor manual before you do so.

Your best bet is to start your computer in safe mode and re-set the resolution to something a little more in the range of the monitor and then try re-boot.

Out of range

Hi,

If there is no hardware issue, this message indicates that your PC's Screen resolution settings (and/or Refresh Rate) are above the capability of the monitor. This can be corrected by booting into Safe Mode (F8) and lowering as necessary.

Good luck and kind regards.

Input Signal Out of Range

I have been having the same problem with my hpvs17 monitor when i start to use my web browser on linux distros. Now, for the next few days i am going to try my system on a regular crt monitor. if the monitor does not crash, than i will have to say that the hpvs17 monitor has a defect. It seems that when i go online, while i am in the middle of searching something, the monitor just shuts off and i get "input signal out of range".

Monitor out of range

Most commonly, this problem is caused by an incorrect refresh rate setting. LCD monitors typically DO NOT support refresh rates higher than 60hz - and this is no exception. Try running the game in "safe mode" if it has one. Adjusting the in-game video settings should solve the problem, just look for a screen refresh rate or any video-related setting with a number followed by "hz". Set it to 60, everything should be fine.

It could also be that at some point the game changes resolution (this frequently occurs if there is an in-game movie or cut-scene). In this case the resolution settings for the in-game movie might be at fault, check them if you can.
